I'm a semi-experienced user, but entirely new to mods and APVs. I started with the NicMaxx Menthol Maxx ecig a few years ago then about a year ago made the upgrade to an eGo style setup because it was cheaper to vape that way and had much more flavor options. First one was some cheap garbage from Circle K that literally broke in my pocket in less than a week. I then switched to the Halo Triton which I fell in love with along with the Subzero liquid I ordered with it(still my go to liquid), but the non-standard threading is really pushing me away from them. I broke my charger and the only way to replace it and charge my 3 1300 mAh Halo batteries was to order one online. I ended up just buying a cheap EVOD from a local shop that I just recently discovered as an immediate solution so I wouldn't spend 4 days having a nicotine fit(or worse, buying actual cigarettes).

That was over 2 months ago. I ended up ordering a replacement Halo charger before Christmas, but my tank is now gross(ended up just throwing it out, trust me, I ruined it lol) and I needed new coils(things I didn't think of when ordering the charger). The fact that I now have to order online AGAIN just to get my old setup running has me very irritated(you should see the comments I made on their Facebook page lololol) and now I just want to take it a step further and upgrade again, especially since I've looked into better rigs a bit over the past few months and have had a few chats with my local shop owners(who seem pretty knowledgeable).

Right now I've got my heart set on something with a BVC. My local shop has the Aspire Premium, but they want $13 more for it than I can find online, but I might be able to talk them down to $70 out the door, especially if I get my online purchase set up to where I just have to click "buy" right in front of them and they lose a sale lol.

Anyway, I'm currently looking at these 3 setups:

I like this because it's basic, simple to use, very affordable, slim and has BVC:
Aspire K1 Starter Kit - $39.95 - WORLDofVAPE

Then there's also this as mentioned before. Again, basic, simple to use, BVC:
Aspire Premium Starter Kit - $61.95 - WORLDofVAPE

But then I really like the idea of possibly going this route:
Eleaf iStick 20w Compact Box MOD - Full Kit!
Authentic Aspire Nautilus Mini - Rock Bottom Vapes

My main issue with the final setup is that I have NO idea what the hell I'm doing when it comes to all of the different settings it has to offer. I don't really know what kind of effect I will see by changing wattage, voltage, using different coil resistances, etc. I don't like a very warm, throaty hit, I mouth inhale like a normal cigarette, and I use high nicotine volume liquid so I'm not looking to get massive rips. I'm not even sure if I need these settings at all, I was pretty happy with the type of vape I got from my Halo Triton, but I'm also totally unaware of the type of potentially better experience I could get by tweaking these settings that are new to me. Since I use a very cool flavored liquid and stating my preferred type of vape, I'm hoping I could get some advice as to how I should adjust these settings or if I even need them.

I'm also concerned about the authenticity of the products on these sites because of the extremely low prices(though I've found nothing but good said about them), so if anyone has experience dealing with these sites please do share.

Thanks in advance for any advice and sorry for the lengthy post lol

Edit: I did check out the sticky about "high power vaping", but that didn't really help me figure out much, I promise I'm not an idiot, just inexperienced >.<

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my istick with mini naughty! I just got it today after a bunch of ego type cigalike devices and I am very happy! All of the mentioned gear I have purchased have served their purpose and I still see myself using my little volt cigalikes for on the go in my purse if I dont want to look too obvious in certain situations. But at home doing my thang I don't think I will put my istick down lol.

If you had problems with Halo gear, you will most likely have a lot of problems with other gear... Halo is as easy as it gets.

I have a problem with the fact that I can't go to my local shop that's a 6 minute drive to buy hardware for it. That was clearly stated in my post, no need to be condescending.

Hey Shreduhsoreus, I forgot to mention I know NOTHING about volts and watts and ohms etc, so I just keep it fairly low volts like right now I am on 3.8v or 7.5 watts on my istick and vape and taste, you just click it up higher if you want or down its up to your taste and the juice, it is not hard at all, just play around with it until you get the right flavour and vape you desire.

Wouldn't that be the fault of the shop for not carrying a larger assortment of gear?

That would be the fault of a company making products that will only work with their own hardware. Every shop I've been to that sells Halo liquid refuses to stock Halo hardware because it doesn't sell very well and isn't compatible with anything that isn't made by Halo. My local shop has a very wide range of hardware brands, and so do almost all of the other of the shops in Indianapolis.

Why are you even arguing this with me?

That's good to know. In actuality it's probably way simpler than I think it is, I'm just used to not having any of those options lol

Another vote for the istick and mini naughty - great combination! And I'll second Dyanne about just adjusting it up or down till you find your sweet spot. There's no real need at that level to worry too much about ohms and volts and watts - if you try to set it too high, it just won't go there. With the 1.6 ohm BVC, I can get it up to 18.9 watts, and with my Protank 2 (I think it's a 2.2 ohm coil on that one), it won't go above about 12.5. So it takes care of that. And the combination really does make juice taste better!

So far I'm seeing a lot of positive feedback about this combination everywhere I look. The guys at my local shop are not going to be happy when I show them what I paid instead of buying from them ;)

I think you would be very happy with it but I also would search the set up on utube and watch the reviews and also how to use them

If you can wait a few more days the iStick 30watt will be out for only slightly more than the 20watt. The new version is supposed to correct a few issues of the 20watts. Mainly steel 510 threads and a spring loaded 510. It appears to have better voltage regulation also but we wont know for sure until we actually get them.

Unless you can get a smoking deal on a 20watt now, IMO its best to wait a couple weeks. It may even drive the price of the 20watt down even more.

Nautilus is a great tank. Ive used upto 80VG juice in mine and it appears to work great. The full size holds a lot more juice but the Mini has a nicer looking SS T tank option. You really cant go wrong with either.

I think going with a regulated mod like the DNA 30 mini would be your best bang for your buck, yes you have to buy external batteries but it will be a huge performance upgrade and future benefit if you ever decide to sub ohm or even atlantis or kanger sub tank clearomizer.
It does seem like alot of work at first but after you educate yourself it's a breeze.
Please try and give this a try steam-engine.org.

Thanks for all the input and information everyone, I really appreciate it! :D

Currently, I think I'm going to grab an MVP 20W. I found a deal for $32 shipped and everywhere I look I hear it's much better than the iStick I was considering. It is a little bulkier, but I think it's something I can get used to. Being my first mod and pretty inexpensive, I won't feel like I wasted money when/if I decide to upgrade. I hear it's pretty reliable too, for what it is and the cost of it and will still be a HUGE step up from using eGos.

If anyone has any experiences to share regarding that mod, I'm definitely all ears.

I've also heard that using the VW mode is more like an autopilot and would be much easier and more consistent than me using the VV mode, is that accurate?

OH, and here's the site I found the MVP 20W on. The $32 shipped price is when you use the coupon code "20watt". I can't find anything bad about this site, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's reliable.
