Look - I am an old lady who has been smoking since I was 12 - and eating heavily spiced food even longer - thus I have very little taste buds left -

In the 3 weeks I have given up smoking for vaping I have bought over 30 bottles of e-liquid in different flavors - and can hardly taste any of them. This has make vaping a much less enjoyable experience then it could be.

At some sites where I bought e-liquid they also sold DIY flavorings - and the idea just hit me today that I could buy flavorings and add them to my flavored e-liquids and give enough boost to the flavors that I might enjoy them.

Then I looked at the DIY recipe forum and everything looked so complicated.

So, I thought I would ask - is my idea a workable one - can I just add a few drops of these extra flavorings and go with it?

yes you are correct in that you can add flavor to you liquid to give it more flavor. Flavor is subjective to each person so some take more that others. Tasty Vapor sells doublers for most of the flavors that they sell that are zero nic. The only thing that you need to remember is that when you add zero nic flavor to a nic liquid it will decrease the nic content in that juice. If you are not adding much it should not be a problem. If you have to add a lot, once you find a flavor that you like you may need to buy it in a higher nic level so when you add zero nic flavor to it you will still have the nic level that you need.

The Tasty Vapor Doublers are not for adding more flavor, they are for reducing the nicotine while maintaining the flavor. You can add additional flavoring to any premade juice but you may not get the exact taste unless you know which brand of flavoring was originally used. It's fun to experiment and that's how most people get started with DIY. I like strong flavors, too, so now I make all my own and I can make it as strong as I want.

DIY is like any other hobby - you can keep it simple or get as complex as you like. The more you learn the more fun it is to experiment with flavorings.

What are some of the flavors you have that you would like stronger?

All sorts - tobacco flavors, nut flavors, candy flavors, fruity flavors - drank flavors

I thought to start I would just get a couple of fruit flavors and add then in thus my:

hazelnut would become cherry-hazelnut
and my clove would become cherry-clove
and my Kamel would become cherry-camel
and by butterscotch would became cherry-butterscotch
etc.

You get the idea - then I would not have to order so much to start and I might get enough flavor out of the ones I have already bought to enjoy

Walmart and some of the larger craft stores sell LorAnn's flavorings in their cake and candy decorating section. It's a way to try some cheap without having to place an order online. Also, you can get some good deals on Amazon for the small 1 dram bottles.

When adding flavoring don't add it to you entire bottle of e-liquid in case you don't like it. Take a little out (2mls is good) and add a drop of flavoring at a time to that and test it.

Do you mean that the e-liquid flavorings are the same ones used in cakes??

I have a sister-in-law who owns a bakery specializing in novelty and wedding cakes, and they are only 4 miles away from me. Since the amounts I need would be small I am sure she would share - if these type flavorings are usable.

There is no such thing as a dumb question, only a dumb answer.

Ask your sister if she knows the ingredients in the flavorings or the brand. Let us know what you find out, but generally if a flavoring doesn't have soybean oil, sugar, caramel color, Xanthan Gum, or Acacia Gum they will work fine. However, cherry butterscotch sounds pretty awful.
