Hi, yesterday I cleaned my kanger t2(long wick) and now it gives me strong burn taste and I dont know what to do. I ordered a new one and a pack of coil head to see if that will save my ..., still not received, but meanwhile, please tell me where I did it wrong.

So this is what I did last night. It is a long wick t2, I opened it, screw out the coil, put the coil under hot water and washed, then put it in a cup of hot water for like 5 minutes, then I rinsed it with a paper and I let it on my desk for about 3 hours. For the body part, I filled it will some warm water and shaked a little bit(without coil in it), then pull out all the water, even with a seringe, then I use a stick of makeup cotton bar(I dont the name of this, I stoled one from my wife) to cleaned the inside then put it on the desk to let it dry. Once everything seems dry, I put them together then strong burn taste, makes me want to puke.

Another strange thing I found on my t2 coil is the wicks(there are 2) dont go through the resistance(that piece of metal spring), 2 wicks are simply put on the resistance, on the contrary, on my vivi nova coil, wicks go through the resistance. I am not sure either this is normal or not on t2.

Please tell me where I did wrong, is there anything I can do to save my t2? The new one wont be here till next monday and I want my t2 for the week end, I love it.

Thanks.

Hi tntmux,
You probably have "gunk" on the coil and you need to dry-burn the coil. youtube has videos of how to dry-burn a coil.
Unscrew the mouth piece and remove the silicone and metal cap from the coil stem. Press the button on your battery for 5 seconds then rest for 5 seconds. Keep repeating till the coil stops smoking. Rinse in water and let dry. Make sure the coil is screwed down tight and reassemble. hope that helps, its easier to watch a video. Good luck to you

Hi, I looked at my wicks, there's a little bit of black on the middle of them, dont know if that could be the problem, anyway I will try this dry burn, wont make worse.

Could anyone confirm if it is normal that wicks in kanger t2 donot pass through resistance? Cause in this case, it is just way too easy to change wicks, you just get to order some wicks and cut it into the same length then put it on the coil, no need to buy new coil head. Seems a little bit magical for me. Why even bother to dry burn, just change it...
I call your attension that in vivi nova, the center part of wicks are surrounded by resistance, or in another word, wicks go through resistance!! You can see it very clearly in the video posted above.

Yes, the wicks should pass through the coil. If your T2 just had the wicks sitting on top of the coil, I'm surprised it worked at all before you cleaned it. I've never rewicked a T2, but I rewick my T3s all the time by doing this:

This may be worth a try if you won't have your replacement until Monday. It's pretty easy, and you may find you like the flavor with the cotton instead of the silica. Just be sure that your wicks are completely saturated, because if they're not they will give off a burnt taste.

I hope this helps!

A T2 has 2 flavor wicks on top of the coil and 2 additional wicks that pass through the coil. Before you dry burn remove the rubber cap, the top metal piece and the loose wicks and then dry burn. You should be able to see the coil afte you remove the flavor wicks. If its real black and you can't make out the wire then you'll get that burnt flavor.

So the top wicks are black? Might disassemble and smell those wicks, if they smell scorched they are scorched and will never taste the same, if they smell like what juice was in there, soak them in vodka or everclear for a few until they are pretty close to normal color again and let air dry.

So I get confirmation that wicks should go through resistance, then I re-wired it. 1 try failed because I linked both end of resistance to positive...no vapor at all, then I figured out why there is a rubber piece, yes that one separates positive and negative, second try it works but burn taste is even worse, my fingers are too big to wire such a small thing...I give up, for a 1 euro head I dont want to bother that much, received new heads this noon, put it in and my t2 is back, now I can enjoy my delicious tribeca :)
