Your guess is the closest I've seen yet.

Yes, the coil is missing. Its definitely a smaller coil than the Melo 3. I tried screwing an old kanger pro tank coil in it, no go, but it does seem like a similar style belongs in it.

There are no markings or identifiers on the tank whatsoever.

I'm sure it's a tank other than the one I mentioned...unless the previous owner modified it somehow.
