Let me first state that I am extremely eager to begin switching to e-cigs, or at least give them a try. I have been ready to buy a kit for many months now, having made up my mind several times as to the choice of products; but I just can't seem to make a purchase.

The companies I have found online seem very questionable, at best. For instance, one company (very popular here) has products listed which, when I place them in the cart find they really aren't available... out of stock, soon to be in stock, might be in stock, waiting on delivery and all sorts of other BS which, after months now just looks weird.

And so I go from store to store, shopping cart to shopping cart, reading and studying and placing items in carts, getting ready to purchase products I want so much and am so eager to try, but then it always falls through. I just can't seem to get a handle on this elusive thing that is always just out of reach. I am now quite leery of the whole thing. But I am very anxious and determined to give vaping a try.

Please direct me to a reputable online store which has the initial supplies in stock (today, like Amazon does for books), so I can place the items in the cart, pay for them, and have them delivered without delay. I do not want to wait weeks or months to receive my order. I do not want to hear a bunch of stories about sold out merchandise or excuses about shipments or anything else! I just want to find the best choice and best price on in-stock merchandise, then get my order fulfilled promptly so I can try my first e-cigarette.

UPDDATE:

Okay. Thanks. So again, just now, I go to the site that sells my e-cig of choice, the Nebula, per your recommendation, but when I get there, it says the product is not yet in stock, but should be this week. Good grief. What's up with that? Why? When?

It seems this is always the case. I have never once, ever, gone to a site which sells these products and found what I was looking for in stock, not once. It all just seems a bit fishy to me.

I do see hundreds of you on here discussing the many e-cigs you've found and tried, but how long did it take you to get your first one? Did they used to be in stock more readily? Why is it that every time I make a decision to take the plunge, I get stopped by the elusiveness of the whole kit and caboodle?

Also, what happens when I finally find one and get started vaping? Does it then become a constant hassle to find refills and supplies to keep my habit going? This is all so dismaying and disappointing. I am sick of trolling these sites and never actually ending up with an e-cig I can try. I just want one to start!

I'm too am quite new to e-smoking (past 2 weeks) & have made 2 purchases from TW (Totally Wicked). Both orders were promptly arrived 2 days later. No out-of-stock issues from them based on what I was looking for. First order was for a DSE901, various parts & menthol juice & the second order was for the Titan 510 & various parts. Fastest service I have received literally from any company. By the way I'm now obsessed with the Titan 510 with the Manual Switch. :D My first purchase was from the mall for the Smoking Everywhere e-cig (aka RN4081 by other suppliers). While I find it to be decent cig, I paid WAYYYY too much. Totally Wicked sells it for a fraction of what I paid. But I still prefer my Titan. Best of luck!

Id recommend you get either the 901 or 801 penstyle. both great for beginners. smoke liberation.com has some 901s in stock i believe, and you can get pretty cheap, good quality backups on atomizers and batteries at myvaporstore.com. A cheap 801 or 901 can be found at thekickitstick.com. the best juice Ive found is at midwestvapor.com or ecigsales.com. Puresmoker has great juice, but out of stock... also, myvaporstore.com has pretty good reviews on juice... Ive never had anything shipped out faster than midwest vapor. no more than 2-3 days and its at your door...

I am new to vaping as well and can say this. While starter kits seem to be elusive, there seems to be a lot recommendations and sites listed here for you to select from in terms of parts, kits, juice.
I would recommend e-smokeytreats for juice. I bought 2 flavors and it arrived in 2-3 days from CA to OH. Not too bad.

Many of the sellers on this forum *are* very reputable. The problem isn't with their service (which is, on average, very good) - but the demand lately has been extremely high so what stock they have tends to sell out quickly... add to that customs is holding some of their shipments. This is their livelihood. I'm sure they are as eager to sell their products as you are to buy them ;)

If you are in the US, a US seller will usually have a kit to you in about 3 days, give or take. Chinese sellers take about 7-10 days if you pay for the fastest shipping (EMS), otherwise, shipping from China takes about a month. Again, the problem is supply/demand/customs delay.

Also, what happens when I finally find one and get started vaping? Does it then become a constant hassle to find refills and supplies to keep my habit going? This is all so dismaying and disappointing. I am sick of trolling these sites and never actually ending up with an e-cig I can try. I just want one to start!

When you finally do order your first kit, I would suggest that you also purchase a couple spare atomizers and batteries (in case of failure), a few blank carts and also about 30 ml of juice. Depending how much you vape, 30 ml of juice should hold you about 2 weeks to a month, during which time you can keep checking the sites for different models or juices you would like to try. You will have supplies enough to keep you vaping until your next batch comes in.

MyVaporStore has the DSE-901 kit (very good to start, IMO) in metallic blue available. VaporGuys have Janty's in stock. Both these sellers also sell juice you will need, or cartridges if that is your preference (convenient but not really cost effective to go with carts). I have used both of these sellers in the past and have had no issues either with service or shipping time.

Best of luck to you and congrats on your decision to give vaping a try! :)

I don't know who has what in stock, so this might not help too much. I will just give you a summary of what worked for me. Maybe some of it will help and if not, good luck anyway.

I read this forum and looked at older forum threads for two weeks before I purchased my first PV (personal vaporizer).

My first PV was a blue DSE901 from Phil at e-Smokey Treats - Electronic Cigarette's, The healthy alternative to traditional tobacco cigarette's. Phil is a little more expensive than some suppliers but he provides a 3 month warranty instead of 14 days, gives you two atomizers instead of just one and provides a phone number where you can call him which most suppliers do not. Like all suppliers, the kit comes with two batteries and a charger. The battery will last about 2-3 hours before needing recharged although some users reported getting 4-5 hours but that has not been my experience. His 901 starter kit is $69.95 where some other suppliers will sell them for $49.95 or $59.95 but without the extra’s that Phil provides. I would consider the DSE901 a good first purchase and it is about the size of a regular 100 cigarette. (If you purchase from Phil at e-smokey-treats.com, when it asks for a coupon code, use esmoking101 and you should get 10% off.)

Many users like the classic penstyle 801 model which has a larger atomizer and cart and a typical battery charge life of about 4 hours. The draw is lighter, more like a straw (to me) due to having 4 holes in the atomizer and the bigger cart. The 801 is larger and looks more like a big pen instead of regular cigarette. You can also purchase a USB pass-through for both the 901 and 801, which allows you to plug into a usb port on your computer or wall socket adapter and not have to worry about changing batteries. You can then purchase a portable battery pack for the usb pass-through such as this one from Kennsington (Kensington - Portable Power Pack for Select Mobile Devices - Black - K38021) and make your usb power portable. Make sure the power pack is at least 1000mAh power output.

Most users want an PV to provide the “throat hit” that is most like a real cigarette (analog as we call them) as well as long battery life. Many members have stated that one of the best ways to get consistent throat hit is to get a manual switch PV that allows you to push a button and heat up the atomizer more before you inhale. One that does that well is the screwdriver (SD) from trog at: - The ScrewDriver - An electronic cigarette that simply works. It is more expensive but it provides long battery life (7-8 hours) and consistent throat hit. And my experience with trog has been outstanding. I have emailed him many times with questions and he almost always responds any where from 10 minutes to an hour or so. There is also now a US supplier of a PV with a manual switch and big battery, the Prodigy from PureSmoker.com - Your #1 Source For PV's, Parts, & Accessories!. Here is link that shows a picture: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/puresmoker/15068-usa-manufactured-pv-cash-friends.html

Most members recommend that you use e-liquid or e-juice to refill your carts instead of use the prefilled cartridges that come with the starter kits. Plus it is more cost effective. My recommendation (others will differ on this) is to get a little higher nicotine (nic) strength because you can always dilute it with USP glycerin that you can get at a drug store for $5 or $6 if you find it is too strong. I use 24mg nic strength. The highest is 36mg and there is also 18, 11, 6 and 0. There are many different flavors to choose from. My favorite tobacco flavor is Kent from www.eastmall.net - Eastmall International Co.,Ltd. It has a smooth but definite tobacco flavor to me. Others like the stronger flavors such as Camel. You can also reduce the strength over time. Another supplier with a pretty good following is LiquidXpress Hompage.
