Quite a few have had similar reactions to custards...

Many, many posts about this. Here's one-

Capella Vanilla Custard....Odd Feeling in Throat after Vaping | E-Cigarette Forum

Lol- You Quote a thread by a Noob DIY'er not having the proper equipment or knowledge to correctly mix and sample as Evidence of What exactly?
Follow up post were of little value.

Vanilla a NON-Diketone - can be Extremely Harsh on the Throat
PG for some is Extremely Harsh
Ethel Malto can be Harsh on the throat

Your Blurb post are not helpful to new members seeking advice or assistance.

I await information from the Op to attempt to assist.

Sorry to the OP .... This thread has sort of gotten derailed from your original concerns. Sorry for that..... There have been many good points both pro and con concerning vaping gear, juices and the like. I am not really on one side or the other. The only thing I know is that for most people, vaping is a much better option than smoking death sticks. People can debate about the various vape devices that a newbie should or should not use but I am quite sure that doesn't help the OP much.

You can get sore throats from vaping via powerful vape devices or weak vape devices. Higher vape devices do tend to be harder on the throat especially for a new person who may be using too much nicotine and has their wattage cranked way up and is talking direct lung hits. But, I have also seen this afflict people who were using lower powered devices. Most of the cause of sore throats that I have noticed is the amount of nicotine used and the PG level. But. none of us can give you a 100% correct answer unless more info is provided.

    you quit smoking.
    now quit vaping.
    go see a doctor.
    that is all.
    regards

or... figure out if the higher nic level/ higher pg level is part of the problem... (baby/bathwater much?) seeing a doctor may be something to do if it persists, for certain, however...

And considering that newbie are now being advised to get high wattage sub-ohm stuff as STARTER KITS, as well as to start off with 18mg nic if they are "just getting off cigs and trying to quit", I'd say recipe for problems.

But people can continue to laugh at me for suggesting a high mAH Spinner and a nice little clearo like a GS Air or nautilus or single coil clearo or something to start off with.....

    Good point.
Nowadays a 30 watt starter kit is very common and cost effective, but the nicotine strength a new vaper needs to get at that wattage would have to be like 3mg

Doctor?? Not for this kid.... I run from Doctors ..I have an allergy to them.

Nah man, personally, I wouldn't go to a croaker until I let a bit of time pass by or unless the pain got so bad that I had to go. I remember I had a sore throat for almost a month when I started vaping and finally it went away after lowering the nic and adjusting the ratio pg/vg. But, that's just me.

    Never experienced that.
Strawberry can be a bit abrasive though especially in High PG mixes
Pineapple can have a heck of a bite
    Cinnamon Red Hots..........forget that.

Some people think diet soda tastes sweet; some, like me, think it tastes like chemicals. The buttery, custard flavors have the same affect on some; harshness, rather than smooth...

its not correct ( the dehydration part) but it will make your mouth "feel" drier ( but so do pretzel).... its just a myth....

I have lab blood profiles taken carefully before vaping as well as every 3-6 months since vaping that would beg to differ.

Without going into detail, I probably have the most complete pre and post vaping set of medical records of any vaper all done working with immunologist, dentist, periodontist, internist, radiologist, including some vascular tests.

I wanted to catalogue my vaping journey in a truly scientific manner. Both for myself, for my medical providers, and the vaping community.

These will be given to someone (independent in medical profession) who will best be able to use them in a positive way --- some of the outcome was good, some of the outcome was not as good. Of course, this only reflects MY body, not anyone else's but is still going to be very useful I think.
