I am a new member (long time reader) and am in desperate need of help. I have been vaping for about 7 months now and started with the Joye Super Ego and am now using the Joye Ego-T as of a month ago. I have only used atomizers during this time for both e-cigs and am very frustrated. Admittedly, I did not know much in the beginning about cleaning atomizers but have been reading this forum for a while and have learned much. To help make this an easier read I will sum up my experience and hopefully someone can help to point me in the right direction.

-Used higher VG mix and had leaking and dead atty's
-Used 80%PG/20%VG and have had no leaking but atty's clog fast
-Use 100% PG with similar results at best

-Blow out factory atty's every night or at latest every other night and wipe with paper towel
-Have tried boiling a few as directed and killed them.
-Tried taking Ego T atty apart and killed it.
-Have not tried the alcohol/jewelry cleaning soak method yet.

I am wondering if it would be best to try another kind of atty that isn't made by Joye? I am just so tired of atty's lasting 1 day-2 weeks at most! If anyone that would be so kind as to help me needs any more information that I might have left out of this post I would be more than happy to oblige! Please help, DO NOT want to go back to analogs but am sick and tired of all of these dead/burnt tasting attys!!

Have you considered cartomizers? the Boge and Smoktech work pretty well, require little maintenance other than filling. They are disposable, but they last a week or more and cost less than $2 ea. If you prefer tanks, consider the Stardust or the Vision cartos. They don't have any poly-fill relying instead on wicks to carry the liquid to the coil, are see through so you can see how much juice you have, can be cleaned relatively easy and they can last for several weeks.

I have my original EGo-T atty's from months ago. I run mine under hot tap water (fill & blow method) until i don't smell the juice. 5 or 6 times. Blow/shake them out. Let them sit upright for 5 minutes and shake/blow again. Prime with at least 3 drops, throw on tank then batt & vape. Works for me. If you are using very thin PG, then I can understand your leak issue. 80/20 seems to work well. Any real dark or opaque flavor seem to clog an atty very fast. So if you batt is a 3.2-3.4V and your atty is a SR (2.8-3.0 Ohm) then your batt isn't really powerful enough for darker flavors. The idea of using Vodka is it is a solvent. Soak for about 10 minutes and then rinse and blow out a few times. Then rinse in hot water and blow/shake. You might want to try a carto at some point also. Just do a u-tube search for many different reviews. I prefer Atty's. Like my REO Grand @ 3.7V with a Cisco 1.5 Ohm atty with any menthol = Vapor Fog! I hope you get your issue resolved.

Bearing in mind that I have never had to soak an atty, I believe I read they just unscrew it, drop it in, and let it soak for a few hours or overnight.

I'm sure an atty expert will be along shortly to give you more definitive answers.

I just watched a video on YT where someone took the filling out of their used carto, being careful not to disturb the air hole, and just used it as you would an atty. Here's the video.

Thanks for the reply! I have been considering trying cartomizers and your post and info has helped to persuade to give them a shot. I want to try the Boge and the Stardust/Vision (clear/easier to clean is a huge plus for me) and will be ordering them Monday! I was going to ask with the Boge and Stardust/Vision, do I get them for a Joye 510 and can I use the tips that came with the SuperEgo and Ego-T? Also, any recommendations on cheap but reliable vendors?

Thanks for the reply! I will try your method to deal with these atty's I have lying around and see what happens, much appreciated!

Thanks for the reply and for the video! I will have to try this out as well!
I tried soaking in 70% alcohol for about 30 minutes and letting it dry for about a day and a half and although the alcohol did turn a light brown, I seemed to get no real improvement...:(
