Lately I've been getting frustrated with my vaping experience. I'm currently using a carto tank setup on a segeli (sp?) zmax. I have a china gg as well, but the button module (which I have replaced about 5 times) has never worked correctly. Anyhow, I am going through about a carto a week and want something a little more sustainable. Maybe a rebuildable tank on a decent but cheap mechanical mod. I have never used a RBA before and want to get into it because it seems easier to just keep a bunch of wick and coil and i would never have to worry about running out of cartos. If someone can show me to a crash course in RBA's that would be great too, and also any siggestions would be appreciated. I am in Afghanistan and bandwidth sucks. (this is also why it is getting hard to keep supplies on hand) HELP ME PLEASE!

A week on a carto tank carto is pretty good. May I suggest contacting Ikenvape and picking up some 2.0Ω Platinum punch cartos in which ever length (35 or 45mm) you need. Why? they will last about twice as long as most other brands of cartos. Boge cartos tend to have good lives as well.

There are no RBAs that don't require wick and wire replacements on a regular basis... so I honestly don't think you're going to get an advantage or improvement by going that route, other than RBA/RDAs tend to provide a more flavorful vape... at the cost of building your own wick and coils. Truth be told... I use carto tanks probably 70% of the time and RBA/RDAs the remainder. It's just less hassle to me.

Anyway... if the route you want to go is an inexpensive, but reliable, mech mod and RBA, then Vapor Tek has the Sigelei 19e and Caravela clone 8W for cheap. They also have the Fogger... a relatively inexpensive RBA that works well. Wick and mesh can be found here.

There are lots of good mech mods and RBAs... the ones I've pointed you to are only the tip of the iceberg. ;-)

I know that the RBA will need replacement wick and coil, but it's easier to keep a bunch of it on hand, rather than boxes and boxes of cartos. Back in the day when it was an atomizer/cartridge system, i could stretch an atomizer for about a month. I just switched from that type of system to the carto tank system right before I deployed, so I have been out of the game for a while. Is there a good how to for doing up the wick/coil assy? Also, i have seen this a few times: Hybrid Elite Mod by Vapor Tek USA It looks like an iHybrid clone, but is it any good? I ask because my china gg was good but the cap fell 3 feet to the floor and the threads got dented in and the dang button assembly (if anyone has noticed) is threaded backwards and i have never been able to get it right.

Sorry boss, I have ZERO experience with hybrids. Perhaps best to ask that question separately... as no one else seems to interested in this thread. My usual toppers are carto tanks, RDAs and a Russian.

I've never watched a video on setting up a genesis type RBA... I just read some stuff, looked at photos and dug into it... got it working nicely on my 2nd try. I don't use SS wick though... just ekowool, so I may not be the best guy to ask about that either. Never oxidized a SS wick in my life.

I just recently got a Sigelei silver dragon, which is about the same price as the Sigelei 19. I got it from 101vape.com. The dragon is a monster. Just absolutely solid. I also have the 19, and its a great mod, but the dragon is much sturdier, IMO. I had to do several modifications to the 19 to make it work the way I wanted. I don't have an RBA, I decided to start messing with RDAs instead (I like to switch flavors A LOT), but a lot of people recommend the RSST as the best starter RBA. That said, I think the Fogger LOOKS much cooler. Also, good luck on your deployment. Stay safe!
