I’m leaving in Cairo- Egypt, I’m smoker for 20 years 80 per day I start smoke e cigarette one month ago, now I smoke 3-4 cigarette a day. I feel very good.
I have a question maybe Canadians can give me advise, in Egypt, kits existing are very bad accordingly I import quality kits (5 kits) from china, when arrived to Egypt I discovered importing e cigarette is forbidden although it is existing in the market and showed in TV add in biggest TV channel in Egypt, accordingly I'm planning to re-ship it by DHL to my brother in Canada then he can bring with him to Egypt end of the month.

My question is ( if I send it as I gift , kits only without any liquids) he will be able to release it from customs or he will not? As far as I read about Canadian market, Canadians can import kits but they can't import e liquid.

Please, Any advise will be highly appreciated

I believe it would also depend on the kits your ordering....... if there are 'any' medical claims on or in the packaging or documents it CAN be refused by customs as an un-approved medical device. Chances are it 'might' be opened and checked for nicotine contents depending on the border officials workload during this season (or attitude) is where documentation would come into play.

Havn't seen issues as such, but with so many (new) china vendors out there... it's a possibility.

Yeah, if you order common kits, like eGos or 510s or things like that you shouldn't have any problems at all. Hardware is not forbidden here, nor is e-liquid as long as it doesn't contain nicotine. There have been some cases of cartomizers being refused on the grounds that they "may contain traces of nicotine," but those have been relatively few and far between, and I haven't heard of that happening lately, so I think you should be perfectly fine sending a shipment to your friend in Canada, and then having him bring them in with him as long as the kits you order do not make any health claims on the packaging.

Good luck and hope it all works out for you!

Do not ship ecigarettes to Canada via DHL. DHL will no longer broker them, and the package will sit in customs (for Toronto, customs is in Hamilton which is quite a drive).

Best thing is to use regular mail service.

When did DHL make this decision? My packages from Innokin are always sent via DHL.

Well a while back a few of us had a hella time getting Janty's, who ship via DHL. DHL clearly would not broker ecigarettes, so the packages would sit at customs until the recipient went to declare them.

To add: Does DHL know what Innokin's are? They would broker Janty until they discovered what was in the packages, then they stopped.

I've no idea if DHL knows what Innokin is shipping. But I haven't had a problem getting my packages from them.

Dear Gentlemen,
Thanks very much for your support and advises, honsly I was not expecting such a great help since I'm not Canadian.

I can summarized my situation as follwos:

1- I'm new in e cigarette world, first I bought cheap Chinese kits available in Egypt, they are all very bad and I was in my way to hate e smoke.

2- Finally I find quality e cigarette which is made in UK ( Intellicig) also they sell their liquid which I believe it is good but the problem they have only one model which is the same size of tobacco cigarettes.

3- Since I was heavy smoker, I forced to buy too many batteries and chargers to be ready all the day then, I decided to look to internet for another models, I got chocked because I was thinking that the size available in Egypt is the only size for e cigarette.

4- Accordingly, I saw all review videos on (E-Cig-Reviews.com - Electronic cigarette and E-Liquid video reviews, tutorials, user guides and discount codes) hoping to choose what is good for me but I got very confused since I'm not expert in e cigarettes.

5- I planned to order kit from UK but I contacted one of the largest manufacturer in china, they agreed to ship me anything I want. Frankly, I ordered kits from china because of the huge gap in prices between UK and china for the same products.

5- Because of my ignorance about e cigarettes I made it easy for myself, I order one kit from all models they have ( ego-c, ego-t, Ego-VV, elips, Ego-V6, ego-W, vivi nova, CE4- CE5, CE6, CE9 Atomizer, Ego-V8) but I didn't ordered and liquids.

6- I requested packaging to be shipped by DHL. it arrived in 3 day from Hong Kong to Cairo, then I faced the problem with customs.

I hope my situation is clear but please I still would like to get some help:

1- I will state in the air way bill ( good as gift) is this OK?
2- I will write description as ( electronic cigarettes kits, accessories and plastic case). is this good description or I should change it.
3- I'm obliged to ship through DHL to Montréal. is this possible?
4- In Canada any one can import any number for kits or it is limited to one piece , please note that packaging didn't include 2 pieces of same models, all models are different and one piece.
5- Please I need advice for good e liquid brand available in Canada then I can order from them and delivered to my brother's home in Montréal because we have only intellicig ecopure liquid with 3 or 4.5% nicotine ( I don't know it is equivalent to which concentration in Canada which is 24 or 18 or 12 nicotine ), I'm looking for PG e liquid because I like huge vapour.

Thanks again for everyone support and help me and sorry for my long story.

Maybe what mentioned about DHL is right because I notice that the invoice issues in china as follows:

1- Electronic metal tube.
2- plastic tube.
3- metal tube.
4- case.
5- plastic electronic tube
6- electronic parts.

They didn’t mentioned any word related to electronic cigarettes. I don’t know if DHL know from the beginning that what inside box is e cigarettes or what mentioned above.

Sorry, but I couldn't disagree more. I quite recently ordered from China with a friend and our order was placed Friday night. It shipped Monday with DHL, and was in my hot little hands on Thursday. Less than a week from start to finish. I'll be using DHL from now on.

TO: zztrydr,

I planned to order from china and shipped to Egypt but in Egypt customs didn't released it because e cigarettes forbidden in Egypt accordingly I have 3 options:
1- leave package in the customs and forget the subject.
2- Re-ship it to china and try to get my money back.
3- Re-ship it to someone leaving in another country and he can bring with him.

I choose the third option.

I'm not against Canadian vendors in contrary, I totally respect Canadian products also I don’t like hassle with anything that why I order all types available.
As I mentioned my knowledge about e cigarettes is very limited and I face problem when I received my order accordingly I will be forced to ship to Canada then my brother can get them when he came to Egypt end of December.

I'm sorry if my post disturbed anyone or miss understood.

Hossam, there is no need to apologize as you have not offended anyone. I think everyone is missing the point that he already ordered the goods, they were shipped and are sitting in customs.
Did your customs give you the option to reship the parcel? If so, I would give it a shot.
Also, have you emailed the vendor in China to let them know your situation? Maybe they can advise you.

Thanks IamAurora, This is excactly what happened with me.

You know I didn’t imagine that importing e cigarettes for personal use is forbidden in Egypt because too many shops selling cheap, low quality e cigarettes also there is add for them in the biggest TV channel in Egypt, the most surprising issue, they mentioned in the add that goods approved by ministry of health.

Items shipped from the U.S. to Canada - at least in my experience - are labelled discreetly. Juice becomes "lotion". Ecigarettes become "electronic parts" or "atomizer", etc. Wouldn't mention batteries, although that may not be an issue. Some things will get through fine either way, but it's not worth taking the chance.

I wouldn't let DHL know what's in the package since I've had first hand experience with them and ecigarettes, and I wasn't the only one. Your not a company so just send your brother a "gift", like some fancy small flashlights or something :).
