Well, I was smoking 3 ppd when I got here, but I found I preferred a smaller device with higher resistance, mouth-to-lung, with less vapor but more flavor and more nicotine per puff. What you chose starting out was something more cloudy, typically running at lower resistance coil, higher watts, producing larger clouds of vapor that you inhale directly into the lungs (I think, depending on your coil). Some people prefer one or the other, or even both, or something in between. If you are going to warranty the mod, I'd probably suggest trying a MTL setup, they can be pretty inexpensive, you may find that you prefer them, or more clouds. One starter kit I would recommend would be the aspire zelos kit-- it's a small tank (the nautilus 2) and takes coils that are of 1.8 or 0.7 resistance, and the airflow is much smaller. So you'd inhale that into your mouth, then into your lungs and out mouth/nose. It's fairly inexpensive, the kit can be either a 50 watt battery without TC or a 75 watt battery with TC, if that interests you. Very small and portable (and discreet) and you'll probably then be able to figure out what you prefer. The Eleaf pico starter kit with the Melo II tank is also a good place to start, and it has tons of coil options, so it's variable, also fairly inexpensive.

I'm sure others will come along with good recommendations, too, but that's what I might suggest.

Good luck, and I hope your mod is warrantied or repaired quickly. :)

SO then my next question would be what would y’all recommend to someone just starting vaping - side note at this point I’m at like a pack every day or two which is why I decided to start vaping

I'd recommend a much simpler setup, possibly with a room to grow.

Little mods that I like: Joyetech Evic Primo, Wismec Presa 75W, Wismec P80--there will be sales galore next week, if you can wait.

Tanks? With drop in coils? Kanger Subtank or Toptank Mini is the most versatile--tons of coils to choose from, and RBA deck, power mode and TC. This thing can do it all.

If you don't mind MTL vaping, I also like eGo One tanks--just get a box of CLR coils--not Cl. CL coils are not good.

Just for starters. Oh, and bookmark this site--it will help you find the best prices:

The thing is....

Most hobby vapers upgrade to big battery/mods eventually.

A 200w mod and the Melo 300 is often unnecessary to quit smoking, but be happy as you will enjoy and use it.

People quit smoking on very basic devices, some not even 20 watts. If you get a good level of Nicotine and have the willpower you can quit smoking quickly.

I know people who quit on 18mg (sometimes 24mg) on less than 10w.

My recent convert to vaping smoked 30 a day. She uses a $32 e-cig and 12mg.

I've had a "atomizer short" issue more times than i can count on my big baby rba, every single time a simple removing and screwing back on fixes this. otherwise removing the battery and putting them back in (i think this resets the mod) works too when the other method dosen't work for me. If both don't work or if you tried this already then nevermind me :D

On another note welcome to ecf :p

Although you may have a bad taste in your mouth from the last Eleaf, their Pico 75 or Pico 25 are good, small form devices. It's very unusual to see a user here on ECF have a problem with an Eleaf device. None of mine have ever been a problem.

@Katya has a good suggestion on the Subtank or Toptank. I have a bunch of those too and she's right--they're rugged and very versatile.

Like @stols001 says... your's was just bad luck. Hang in there. If I can quit, anybody can.
