Hi I'm at my wits end my vape just keeps cracking and spitting and I keep burning my mouth I've tried changing my coil about 5 times and tryed different juices but no change I've been using a 0.6 ons coil but was wondering if I should try and get a 1.2 ons coil any advice I would appreciate it . It's looking like I may have to throw this one in the bin and look for a different make.

It sounds like the wattage is too low for the coil. Since the Pockex cannot adjust the wattage, then it is a defect in the unit itself. You might get better results with a 1.2 ohm coil, but since it is new, why not take it back for a replacement or refund?

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I agree with terri in that the device is not putting out enough voltage for that coil to vaporize the amount of liquid that is being wicked up by the wick. I think it is possible that the culprit is actually the coil heads and not the device, though. If the coil heads you have are not wicked well enough in the factory, which is very common for chinese coil heads, they could be wicking up too much juice and the voltage applied to them is not sufficient enough to vaporize it all, causing a bit of flooding and therefore some spitting. In other words, it may be that the mod is working properly but the coils (rather the poor wicking in them) are the culprit.

It very well could be that a 1.2 ohm coil might be better, but not because it's 1.2 ohm, rather because they may not be defective and are wicked properly for that device. But even another pack of 0.6 ohm coils bought at another retailer could even work better. One just never knows.

This is one of those times where a device that allows the user to adjust the wattage (or voltage) proves to be better over one that doesn't (I don't own any of the latter - I see too much value in full control of my vape). If the wattage was adjustable, you could possibly have been able to up the wattage a bit and solve the issue that way. But since you can't you are at the mercy of the mod and the quality control of the coils.

Thank you will try another pack then if not will try getting the 1.2oms coil and if that doesn't work I shall throw it at a wall

Although you could very well be right about the coils, I've never experienced a whole pack of them being bad, just an occasional bad apple in the bunch. I agree with you about not liking to control my device and these fixed voltage devices are really just a fancy cigalike. To the OP, if you decide to go with something else, let us know first. We can give all kinds of advice (and opinions) on good starter setups. From what I've read about the Pockex, it doesn't have much in the way of longevity, so you are probably going to be buying another unit soon, anyway.

If you do end up throwing at the wall and need another device, I don;t know of any adjustable devices in a tube style that isn't discontinued, easy to find and not $200+. Hopefully others will help you find one if one exists. If the tube form factor isn't necessary for you then there are a ton of devices to choose from.

to ECF Markbish. So glad that you are here and I hope you have resolved your issue. Sorry, I was late in welcoming but you have some good suggestions and I just know everything will turn out alright. There are so many wonderful and inexpensive alternatives, thank goodness.

I look forward to reading about your happy vaping journey.

    Hello @Markbish

What liquid are you using - what's the PG/VG ?
I did some googling and found this hope it helps :)

What e-liquid can I use in the PockeX? - With the lower resistance coil (0.6Ω), we recommend a high 70% VG e-liquid and lower nicotine strength. The higher resistance coil (1.2Ω) is suitable for 50/50 PG/VG e liquids and stronger nicotine strengths.

Why is my PockeX spitting hot liquid in my mouth? - Usually, this is due to the coil heating the e-liquid but not quite vaporising it and the hot liquid reaching the mouth. This excess liquid causes the device to flood, which disrupts the flow of vapour. Often, this will clear on its own, but in cases where it does not, we recommend uninstalling the coil and removing excess liquid. If this still does not work, it might be time to change the coil. Another cause of this flooding is if the e-liquid is too 'thin' ( low viscosity), wicking too quickly and the coil can not keep up with demand
