Points, still not understanding them

Can someone please explain the points?

I read the FAQ, but its just not sinking in.

I'm in for this class also. Got a WU for 4 hours and the text says 196 points; got another for 1 hour 7min and it says 393 points...Huh??

I have not figured out exactly how the points works either. It feels to me it is rated by the total time of the WU.

Base Credit vs Estimated Credit vs Estimated PPD

Base Credit is what a WU is worth if you finish it and you don't have a passkey or haven't folded at least 10 work units with your passkey.

Estimated Credit is what you will get if you have a passkey and have folded at least 10 work units.

Estimated PPD = Points Per Day - this changes often depending on your wu you are folding at that time.

They did not mention that in their FAQ calc
