Who here started smoking because there were flavored cigarettes?
In the UK we didn't have any flavors - tobacco and menthol was it.
I don't personally know anyone hwo thought smoking was cool because 'it tatstes like candy'.
People eat candy for that reason, not smoke. If this wasn't true every child would be smoking. Are all children smoking or were hey smoking when there were flavored ciggies here in the US? No..of course they weren't. They aren't PVing either.

AND while we're on the specious argument - why aren't flavored condoms being scrutinised for a ban? Won't they lure children into having some form of sex?
What about those sensuous 'massage oils' eh? I've seen banana and orange flavorings. They also have bubblegum and cherry. Surely that will make all minors into rampant sexual fiends?!

BRAVO! This comment is, to use the gamer term, Made of Pure Win! I damn near wet myself from laughing!

CaptJay has a hell of a point. And what about caffeine? I've read more than a few articles talking about the effects of caffeine ad how addictive it is. When will the FDA go after Jelly Belly for making coffee jellybeans? Or Starbucks for adding *gasp* caramel and peppermint and chocolate to coffee? That's to entice kids, isn't it? My God, they must be stopped!

And another person (I'm sorry, I forgot who...) made the point that with all sites, you have to be 18 and have a credit card. There are so many warnings about the flavours containing nicotine that any parent who buys one for their kid and goes "Oh! I didn't know they were for adults! They had FLAVOURS!" (because you know it'll happen) should be smacked for aiding the kid in getting an ecig.

I am sure that has happened. I started smoking when I was 10 and never had a problem getting a adult to buy me cigs. So some kid is going to get caught with one in school because they can get away with smoking in school, and it's going to come out that the parents bought it for the kid, and in comes the cop out excuse i dident Know..... Idiots.

Excellent point, I only wish the government was smart enough to see how insane they are. I'm sure if the government could find a way to tax sex they would.

my only fear is the two groups formed to "protect" Vaping will cave....tell the FDA they will support a flavor ban if they allow vaping. And that is strait up wrong....I Would like to hear from these two groups that they will stand ferm...and fight for our rights to have stupid flavors...that is stupid. THey allow fruit flavor vodka for heavens sake DO NOT cave in and give in to stupid scare mongering PLEASE. THe cig companies caved because of the public perception to actual smoking ....but cigars got a pass. DO NOT CAVE

I don't want to see a flavor ban, but all-in-all it's the least of our worries--All we’d have to do is buy our own and add.

And hopefully the two groups you are talking about don’t cave, but it’s not all on their shoulders.
We (each individual vaporer) have to police ourselves.

First. Keep all e-cigs and the paraphernalia out of the reach of children and pets. If you’re out shopping and you see a vendor trying to sell to a minor, for gawd sakes, say something.

Second. We have to watch what we say in public places---like in forums. You can bet your bottom dollar that the FDA and ASH, ect. ect. are on the forums looking for any ammunition they can find. The biggest bullet we can hand them is talking about vaping and illegal additives. They won’t get much here because it is against the rules and the moderators are diligent about removing posters slipups. But if you are like me, you belong to more than one forum and some forums don’t even try to discourage it.
For some reason the offenders think it’s cool to speak on a topic that could very well take their vaping rights away---MINE AND YOURS TOO.

Third. Be courteous about your vaping habits in public. Our smoking rights were taken away by places like ACS and ASH. Taking baby steps to get what they wanted was their plan from the very beginning. Now we use the same strategy. The tables have turned. With tobacco they were armed with damaging information. With the ecig all they have is it-could-be while it‘s becoming obvious that vaping in no more harmful than other approved FDA stop smoking aids. While THEY use mistruths to fight their battle, we, even if it’s one person at a time, get the truth out there.

Fourth. Act like civilized human beings on and off the Internet. Nonsmokers are not going to rally our cause if we’re acting like a bunch of jerks.

Five. Jump in and do your part in helping any and all vaping organizations so they have the support so they don‘t have to cave!!!

I totally agree that it is the government trying to get "into the act" for profit. As for vaping in public, I only do it in my car. Right now, smoking is banned, I don't need to vape anywhere just like I couldn't smoke analogs anywhere. The anti-smokers I know (and believe me, I know a lot of them) are extremely happy that I have quit analogs and they don't care how. Knowledge is the key. I even showed my family doctor and he said "how cool!!" He wasn't even concerned but he was definitely concerned about my analogs.
