I've been wondering, I've seen people polishing their batteries & contacts but I've never heard a mention of what kind of polish.. I have "Turtle Wax Chrome & Metal polish" says it prevents rust & corrision, safe for all metal surfaces, when I use it & polish metal you can see that material turning black which it says that's the corrosion coming off, just wondering if I could use this to polish my batteries & contacts? Thanks for any advice!

I wouldn't polish batteries with anything abrasive. That just sounds like an accident waiting to happen. Sure you can polish contacts but just be careful not to remove material, unless that's your goal.

Thanks for the advice, the polish isn't gritty so I don't think it would take away material, this may not even be a big deal I've just been seeing some people polishing their batteries & contacts, some say at least once a week, for all I know this could be such an ordeal to do for basically results you wouldn't even notice.. That's just why I figured I would try & get some input. Thanks again!

Google youtube. There are many videos on polishing your mod -- there may be some recommendations on polishing contacts as well.

I have heard of ECF members using a mild metal polish like Simichrome, or even milder Never Dull wadding. These will remove the tarnish without damaging the logos. Cape Cod polishing cloths are often mentioned as well (this is what I use).

Thank you very much the Simichrome sounds very familiar, I have Never Dull wadding, will give that a try & check into the Cape Cod cloths! Much appreciate the info!

Batteries are different from the outside of a mod. You want good electrical contact from the terminals of the battery. I am not sure what is in the Turtle wax but I would think it has wax which will be left on the battery and is an insulator. It also prevents rust and corrosion by covering the metal with something to keep oxygen out, probably the wax but I don't know.

I just use alcohol to get any crud off and leave the rest up to the stainless steel.

Yes it does leave a waxy residue that I try & wipe off with alcohol pads, that's what I was mainly concerned about with usuing this product, thanks for the input!
