Thats a shame. Seems it may have something to do w/body chemistry and the nickel plate. Some of us can handle them and no tarnish.


i have had a hard time finding polishes that work ggts gets discolored when ever i touch it since it is nickel plated what is the best way to polish it

Looks like that's caused by heat from your battery. I'd use one of these if it were mine.....

5 or 6 bucks for one of the wipes at a motorcycle supply dealer

The thing about nickel plating is you have to be extra careful not to remove the plating when cleaning.

I used mothers metal polish on my Nickel when I had it and didn't scrub it hard. I lightly rubbed the ggts but I barely even put any polish on the serial number/logo and just simply wiped it softly. It shined it up and took off some very light tarnish. I used my nickel ggts wrapped up in a microfiber cloth anyways so it wouldn't tarnish either.
