Poll: E-cig or PV?

I've noticed that if I ever mention "Vaporizer" most of the time people think i'm referring to weed.

Around these parts.....if I mention "vaporizer"....everyone thinks: COPD......!!
The cig-alike is still about the only "socially accepted" device in this area....breaking out a Provari or any mod elicits stares from all....and the potential for "explanations" to the local LE (as in: "What you smokin' thar, boy??!")
There are few enough cig-alikes here.....and I've YET to see another mod in/around central NH....
Calling all Granite State vapers.....!!

I always say e-cigarette. It usually starts a conversation and everyone who smokes or knows a smoker is very receptive.

My experience has been that if I'm talking to a hardcore anti they simply give me a dirty look and tell me it IS a cigarette. I've found ya can't educate those that don't want to be educated. But for most others its a great gateway to having them ask me other questions so I can help make them better informed about what it really is and isn't.

I'm with you there. "PV" tries to get away from the stigma of "cigarette"!

I go with PV and go on to explain what it is as has been explained above. eCig is usually understood by the younger generation, but I try to get away from the 'cigarette' connotation. I've had others saying it's just a way to deliver nicotine in a nasty, derogatory way and I jump on that and say, YES, very much like nicotine GUM, nicotine PATCHES, and the ORIGINAL PRESCRIPTION Nhaler but MUCH LESS EXPENSIVE! The old farts I deal with will bend their opinion when you can put one over big pharma and can get a $20 PV instead of a $400 prescription Nhaler LOL

I used to just say e-cig, but I've come to find that almost everyone I know (that presence being in the narcotics anonymous community) have started rocking sweet mods. This is probably due to smoking being our final frontier of addiction so to speak. And i like it alot!

I usually don't get the question of what is that? I usually get the question: is that one of those e-cigs? Then the next question is: does it really work? After 10+months cig free, yes. That is my answer.

More often than not, most people say "It doesn't look like any I've ever seen". I just tell them it is more efficient, I can tell at a glance how much I have left and the battery life is much longer. (I use the regular size ProVari with extension cap and a Vivi nova 3.5).

If asked what this is, I will say e-cig. That is the term people will recognize. Now if I ever happen to be around other vapers, I will call it a PV. Mr. Robin is finally getting used to me saying PV but he still calls it my pacifier.

I like saying PV because it sparks conversation, and gives a chance to educate someone who would have shut off after hearing e-cigarette. There are a lot of times, though, that I just end up using the term e-cig anyway, just because it's easy for people to identify with.

I'm the same way. I think if a lot of people who smoked knew more about e-cigs, they would switch too. I'm already trying to get my friends to switch.

If the requestor is truly curious, I explain in detail about personal vaporizors. Working around engineers and scientists, the questions generally get technical ...

When a demand for explanation comes from an openly hostile ...... with an attitude, pumped up with confidence that they are about to make a public scene and draw attention by villifying a smoker, I tell them my pen-cap eGo is an expensive fountain pen given to me as a gift for saving baby seals ...

Its hard for fanatics to learn anything when they never stop shouting long enough to listen ...

Whats wrong with Provari, Rook and GLV etc etc etc.... Call them what they are.
