Regulated for me...at this point. Just more comfortable with regulated. Maybe down the line when I feel more confident in my knowledge of batteries/electronics safety/ohms law...as far as the level of knowledge I feel is necessary. I'm very much an over-thinker when it comes to just about everything. Anything simple becomes instantly complex in my world.
Right now... I choose the regulated box. I just like 'em better. Ask me again after the FDstupidA does whatever they're going to do, I may have changed my opinion. But I already have 2 very nice mechs in any case...
If you had asked as recently as two months ago I would have said mechanical all the way. I had been using them and drippers exclusively for the better part of a year...then I got an SX Mini...then an SX Mini "M"... now it's regulated TC most of the time for me.
I prefer USING regulated.. But if I could only have 1 mod for the rest of my life it would have to be a mech. Much less to fail. Regulated mod with a board that leaks its smoke is a paperweight. Can fix a Mech with a trip to the hardware store. This Is why my EDV is a Mech with a KICK.
mech by far, you just cant kill a reo, let alone a couple reos. I love my regulateds too, but the chip just makes mods too dang big. If I could have a dna40 reo sized bottom feeder, i would have one, but I would trust a traditional reo more
I much prefer a regulated mod. Just so many reasons. Not lease of which this thing get in my face. I am not necessarily concerned I would do something to blow my jaw off. But after seeing a co-worker take 220 volt current in Germany. I prefer to have some safety systems on any power that I let get too close. I mean anyone can forget something simple and have a really bad day with out safety systems to protect them.
2 weeks ago i would have said mech. Now ill say hexohm v2. Its not really regulated as you can build whatever and itll fire. But you gauge the volts and has a chip so it is in a way regulated. Its a freakin monster.
