Pondering the feeding system

First, I've been wondering what sits in the housing directly below the catch-cup? Is there a reservoir there, or does the cap-tube extend directly into a fitting on the bottom of the connector? I'm trying to figure out where the juice goes after you squank and let go when it gets sucked back down. Back into the bottle?

I'm also wondering if there is some feeding going on simply when you take a normal toot? I ask because the juice in my bottle seems to go down faster than what it seems it should with the minimal squanking I do.

Futhermore, often, after a good squank and I'm vaping away, it gurgles a little. So I simply dry hit it until it stops, (2 or 3 pulls) then vape on. So I wonder if when I clear the gurgles this way if I'm not actually feeding the atty without squanking?

I'm also amazed that when I decide to direct drip a different liquid than what's in the bottle, I get absolutely no mixing of the juices. This is awesome... but, to be honest, I can't figure out why some of the bottle juice doesn't get sucked up into the atty... at least sometimes???

Oh hell... I just ran out of Truth Serum. It's all Robs fault... making me vape like a lunatic on his masterpiece!!!

One of the many reasons Rob deserved his patent. How a man could figure out all the best aspects in one mod, build it so you can carry at least 3ml of liquid (or 6ml) without needing to fill it again, make it completely mechanical and easy to use, with a classic design AND make it the most durable mod around???

It'll be the feeding tube and yes, the tube is actually connected with the 510 connection. It does go back down the tube into the bottle while a little bit of it is in the tube itself. Which will go back up into the atomizer when you take a pull. You might not notice a mixing of flavors when you drip.

Since there isn't much of the juice in the bottle that will mix with what your putting in there with dripping. The gurgling is because you've flooded your atomizer. So, there a bit of juice in there and when you take a pull. You hear what you hear. If you want to eliminate the gurgling then don't squonk as hard and you'll be fine.

This isn't a definite answer but, it's what I've noticed.

Yes, I see your point. But I find the workings of these things very interesting... especially one like the mini that's employs simplicity and ease of use in its design, yet attains such hights in functionality and performance.

But perhaps it's... improper? of me to inquire about the inner workings of Rob's design in this public venue... trade secrets and all. No problem.

Thanks, washvap. That answers my questions pretty good. I guess you're right about the flooding. That's most likely what's causing the gurgling. I'm making good progress on employing the blind squank method... that seems to be working alot better for me now. Keep on vapin'.

nah...no real trade secrets. you can even open the little black box if you want to see what is inside. Though I do recommend taking extreme care when doing this. It is easy to strip the screw while trying to put it back in. Not the easiest task in the world. As for your first post...

No secret reservoir. The left over juice remains in the tube.

Auto feeding can occur when the hot temperatures cause the liquid to expand, or from a clogged atty, and from an o-ring that has slipped or been squeezed out of place. It is not a typical occurance, but is possible.

It is very similar to what we call a blind squonk. We feed our atties by drawing on the drip tip while gently pressing on the bottle. Kind of a kiss....not a long draw.

No problem at all. Blink squonking is the only method I use on my REO's and other bottom feeders. Can't do the other method since I always seem to flood my atties that way.

Yeah, I saw that little screw in the housing and contemplated doing just what you suggest. Then I thought better of it, realizing nerak has the right idea... just vape and let vape
