I just got my first EVOD with 2.5ohm atty head and I was using it with my 400mAh 3.7v mini ego. Popping noise is driving me nuts and the vape volume is sporadic. should've bought the PRO? order new atty heads? on a separate, or similar, note: I feel like I might need to tweek a bit, maybe a 1.8 or 2.2 ohm head; I would like a shorter draw with more smoke and less warmth (like my 510 with tank). Feel free to point out any ignorance or just advise.

Welcome , but going with a lower resistance head , will increase the warmth of the vapor , not cool it off . You don't mention what juice your using , what ratio's of PG / VG , and some people take out one or two wicking coils to get more juice , and better flavor . I think PBusardo has a video on YouTube . I have been using Evod's for several months now , and have no issues , what so ever . Maybe you just got a bad atty head . Try another , before you give up . Next to my RBA's , the Kanger Evod's and T3's are some of the best devices I use .

I have a Evod I rarely use because of the similar problems you are having. What I found to work for me better was to pull the atty out and dry it out really good (I used the blue shop paper towels) Also make sure the connection to your battery is nice and dry (I found my evod liked to leak) Also clean out the tip and get it as dry as you can. I wouldn't spend more then 10 minutes on this process so it does not have to be squeaky clean dry. and give that a try. Also how hard are you dragging on it? Make sure you are letting the battery do the work, if you feel your cheeks going inward then you are hitting that tank too hard. (I had that problem myself for awhile until I found someone that explained that to me.)

As Renzuli said going with a lower ohm atty will make it go hotter, especially since you can not adjust the voltage on your ego. If you feel the steam is too hot then try to make sure you are not hitting it too hard as well. I found what works best for me is slow hits for about 5 seconds. That is something that will be different for everyone.

Even though I had been vaping for 5 months before I found this forum, reading all the articles in the new members info section has greatly improved my vaping experience. I highly recommend doing this. There is one article there that explains the difference between smoking and vaping and how you should vape for the best nicotine intake....that has changed my life. When I get a chance I will go find the link and post it here for you.

UPDATE:

Article, slower draw and breaking it in seemed to help. Thanks

Separate issue now: since fiddling with the atty head and after a few fills the EVOD now leaks like a sieve. I did drop it, on carpet, so the leak could be coming from where mouthpiece meets the body.

BTW: 70/30 PGVG mix
