Re. The Next Big thing.... Porous Ceramic Wicks
Was the idea dropped?...I've gone thru' approx. 100 pages of this thread as I want to start using alumina or similar as wick in My Origen clone drippers. Anyone still using ceramic wicks? Anyone know if any of the Chinese sites sell 'em? I know A/Baba lists suppliers but MOQ would be an issue (could try for samples tho'!..:))
I know the idea's a good'un 'cos I'm currently enjoying the clone In'Ax hybrid dripper!
TIA!
(P.S. mods; feel free to move this thread if necc...I could n't decide where best to stick it...Gennies, wire & wick, RDAs, NET hardware......!!!)

I think the story on anything ceramic has consistently been that it never performs as well as it's supposed to, and it's effectively non-cleanable, since dry burning either severely degrades the material or is just straight up impossible. The diehards willing to make it a separate hobby in and of itself can get it working in a limited way, with a limited selection of devices that are particularly suited to it, but it's never been able to cross over and genuinely compete with fiber-based setups. Even in that thread you'll see the conversation quickly pivoted away from solid ceramic to start focusing on silica and things like that.

We'll see if any of that changes with the latest wave of ceramic hype. The Vaporesso was a bust, but that "coil-less tank" with the ceramic paddle thing just came out, reviews should start coming in over the next week. I wouldn't get hopes up, though.
