Positive article on e-cigs published in Boston University study

"The FDA and major anti-smoking groups keep saying that we don't know anything about what is in electronic cigarettes," Siegel said. "The truth is, we know a lot more about what is in electronic cigarettes than regular cigarettes."

Any intelligent person knows this. In fact the FDA knows this. They've put out so much information about how propylene glycol is a safe food additive, and then they demonize it when it's used in a device they have issues with (and I won't even get into the reasons they have issues with it, as it's already been covered by various people on the forums:evil:). Nice backpeddling there by the FDA.

Nicotine itself has been researched extensively. And everything else in ejuices are fairly benign.

But we all know that nonsmoking groups are not rational (kind of like MADD, they seem to have issues with anything that remotely resembles what they were originally against), and the FDA is mainly a huge bureaucracy that caters to any corporation with the means to get them on their side. I'm not sure why anyone would take either one seriously, other than that they just aren't smart enough or well read enough to know better.

I'm glad there's some reputable research finally being published that will hopefully take some of the fodder away from the FDA and other groups that are against us.

Good find!

This needs to be STICKIED!
Favorite quote in the article, from a Professor @ Boston U. no less:

"Taking these products off the market would force thousands of users to return to cigarette smoking," Siegel said. "Why would the FDA and the anti-smoking groups want to take an action that is going to seriously harm the public's health? The only ones who would be protected by a ban on e-cigarettes are the tobacco companies, as these new products represent the first real threat to their profits in decades."

Let's all face it, our society and the news reporters are looking for the negative reports about everything. Can it be shouted about on tv? What is the worst thing they can say about something? If a family makes a trip to the store and gets home safely, that is no story. If they get robbed, car gets smashed, hijacked, blows up - that news at 11 and most of the next day. If someone stops smoking with pills, patches, mind control - not news - ecigs-well they better look into it for a couple of years.
