I am interested in trying out some diy mods. I thinking of getting a simple 510 box mod kit form madvapes for my first mod. I have a couple questions. If I understand right, the pos from battery goes to the switch then from switch to pos on atty. Then the neg goes to switch and then to neg on atty. Is that right? Then solder everything together and fire it up? Do I have to use the resistor for the led if so how do I hook that up? Do I even need the led? I don't really need it to light up just work is good enough. Can I dump silicone to hold everything in place? Also what kind of solder should I use? I know this is a simple mod for everyone else but I just want to understand how this thing works. A simple 3.7 is good for now 5v and VV well thats for next year or something. It be cool to just have a few different looking mods. Thanks.

Here is a basic diagram:
Typical 3.7 wiring.jpg
I would use silver solder with a rosin core, and I use plastic steel around the atty. That is the only epoxy I need.

Regarding the silicone, to be safe, it's best to use food grade or stuff for an aquarium. Those will be non-toxic. There's no guarantee what you have will be toxic but, just saying...

Oh and I've been playing with different versions of highping's $8 bottom feeder. I like lighting up the bottle with the LED from underneath.

Finished. I should have practiced soldering. It looks like crap. I did continuity test but my meter didn't beep. I was kinda bummed out but then I realized I had to pop in an atty to make it complete. BEEEEP! Heck yeah. Put a battery in and my atty lights up when its on and don't come on when the switch is off. This is pretty easy stuff as long as its a 3.7 for now. Now I am resisting to buy more supplies to make more. I keep telling myself buy more after I learn to solder better. lol

Again, thanks you all for help.
