Possible PG Allergy?

I'm allergic to quite a lot of things but that's only happened the older i get and after a gallbladder removal op,
I've noticed that if i vape 70/30 I'm starting to feel ill, feel sick, runny nose, lethargy, just generally unwell, I have been smoking a vanilla custard a lot from ciggyjuice.co.uk and started feeling really unwell yesterday, so changed to vamps blackice and after half hour or so and having taken some antihistamines i started to feel a lot better. Trouble is ciggyjuice don't state what their ratio's are but noticed i've had issues with a few of the mixes, anything containing strawberry, which is a shame as i love their strawberry fizz trifle, and now the vanilla custard, I have emailed to find out their mix.

if i vape 50/50 i'm fine, once from different companies that i know are 50/50 i seem to be fine so am thinking I have a slight PG Allergy, am hoping it won't get worse as i love vaping.

Maybe i'll have to start mixing my own to get the blend just right.

went for it yesterday and bought my first VV i got an iTaste vv v3 after watching rave reviews on it last night, and after reading about exploding batteries on mods rechargeable batteries i'm quite concerned about getting one of them as i'm disabled and can't move out the way fast enough.

Lastly for now I have a silver ego battery that gets hot whenever i use it, the others don't should i be worried and ditch it? it's usually the atomisers that get warm and not the battery but this one gets very hot at the base of the battery.

Any battery that gets genuinely hot is definitely a concern. Warm to the touch is normal, but hot is not. I would personally ditch that battery if it is passing warm and getting hot - the eGo styles are very inexpensive and easily replaced. If you have others I would safely dispose of that one. It's more of the better safe than sorry approach.

As far as the allergy, that sounds more like an allergy to flavors than PG. Most folks that are sensitive to PG experience things more like sore throat, extreme dryness, wheeze etc. If you were able to use other vendors with no issue - that is even more encouraging that it is just some of the flavoring used by this one company if thats the only brand giving you grief. Strawberry, as an example tends to include natural and artificial flavor. There is a gentleman over in the DIY mixing section who was hoping to vape strawberries since he is allergic to the real thing, but unfortunately cant as it contains natural flavors.

This is just a guess, you can narrow down the cause by getting a few unflavored liquids in different ratios of PG and VG - see if any of them cause the same problem as what you are experiencing now - if so note which mix it is and avoid it. If not then your issue is the flavoring. You can start introducing flavors slowly and one at a time so you can target what is ok and what is not ok for you.

Good luck getting it all sorted out :)

thanks i don't have an allergy to the real thing in strawberries can eat them until the cows come home, it seems odd i would have an allergy to flavourings. i'll have to try and narrow down what's wrong, case of trial and error i think I have had other strawberry and been fine, if you can call strawberry mint by detang a ejuice can't really taste anything with theirs.

I have plenty of batteries EGO EVOD etc so ditching the hot one is not a problem, but it does get really hot and not just warm so am guessing it's faulty, can't even think where i got that one from now otherwise i would return it as only had it a month or so, ought a lot in 6 weeks, while trying to find something that lasts me longer than a few hours. I tend to constantly vape at mo, probably not a good thing but it's better than smoking i'll wean myself down one of these days, but it stops my craving for analogues,

Just to say... the charging system on the iTasteVV is almost certainly one of the safest there is. You'll be OK. Just don't leave anything completely unattended.

If you use the right chargers for the battery and be sensible, you have very little to worry about.

For more info/support on itasteVV, you should ask on AAEC UK.

MVPs and iTasteVV are very popular on there.

PG is in a lot of foods you probably eat on a daily basis. Most people with a PG allergy know way before they start vaping. So I would cross that off as a possible cause of your problems. I agree more with the flavorings being the culprit, there are tons of flavorings out there, tons of the same flavor, from different vendors. Ya never know what's in them honestly. PG is PG, it doesn't change chemical make up, flavorings change from vendor to vendor.
