For tanks, I use my Kayfun Lite Plus. I have a couple KFL clones from FT, but the original by SvoeMesto just performs noticeably better. Rebuildable drippers are what I use at home, and they'll always taste much better and produce huge clouds compared to tanks. I also make sure to use cotton wicks. A lot of people here will swear by REO mods, but I don't have any experience with them so I can't speak to them.

My knowledge for building coils is only what I have seen on YouTube. Not to say that I couldn't do it just makes me nervous

Hello, some people on here told me to start building my Protank coils to get the hang of it. The flavor taste a lot better in my opinion and saves a lot of money. I'm going to move on to building a Patriot Dripper soon, but I was just like you nervous about building coils. I built my first coil tonight and knocked out about another 10 with no problem, (It's kind of fun). Now I can't wait to start playing with my dripper when it gets here :) This is at least an inexpensive start to helping your juices taste a little better.

I really don't want to spend over $100 per item. I bought a nautilus last night. I read good things about ibtanked but then read that a few people said the smok cartos weren't as good as the boge and the boge you would have to punch yourself. I would have more luck literally punching myself than a carto! No clue how to do that!

Hmmmmmm. Well IMO rebuildables win hands down in the flavor department. I had a buddy on cartos and a Provari for a while but as soon as he got his Reo/RM2 it became his back up. Flavor just wasn't the same.

Anyhow if you're willing to learn how to rebuild that's the route I'd suggest going. As far as attys? Sky is the limit and it sorta depends on what you're looking for. Are you on the go a lot? Does dripping sound like a hassle? Do you like to switch flavors during the day? Let us know how you vape.

For me I LOVE my IBTanked carto tanks on my ProVari. They give me the best flavor. They are not very expensive (around $26 for a complete tank) and the cartomizers last a long time (usually about 3 weeks) and are inexpensive to replace ($1.30).
They work awesome with all of my Nicoticket juices!!! For me this is the way to go!!!
I also used to use ProTanks and there is just no comparison. The IBTanked tanks are just SO much better. The flavor is clear and they don't have any issues flooding or leaking (which was a problem I was constantly having with all of my ProTanks).
Plus, I don't have to rebuild anything- just slip out the cartomizer every 3 weeks or so and slip a new one in!

Good Luck!!!

I bought my first provari tonight and the juices just taste better? Starting to think my vamo before was burning it? Or something? Now I have a nautilus on the way. Any other suggestions on what would bring the flavors out even more? I'm outgrowing protanks

Rebuilding those protanks will definitely yield better results than migrating to another tank with stock heads (no matter how good the new tank and/or stock heads are). Much less expensive, also... for the cost of 1 tank, you could get a 100' of 28gu Kanthal, 100' of 30gu Kanthal, and a bag of organic cotton-balls.

REO is a sizable investment, but I still say it's the single best $200 I have ever spent on vaping. Easy to build, great for "grab and go" vaping... even better with the new LP models that accept more attys.

I love the KFL+, but to me it seems like the next logical step AFTER rebuilding the protanks.

Agree - cartos are still a viable solution for people who vape predominantly 1 flavor (or, don't mind having several tanks for several flavors).

Amber, where are you getting cartos for around a buck - curious?

I would concur that a custom micro coil cotton rebuild of the Protank coils will yield significantly better results than stock, but you can get even further down the flavor spectrum by using other gear. I don't think there's a good way to completely eliminate the flavor muting you expeirence in Protank style coils, I think it has to do with the airflow and how it has to wick.

In my opinion and experience, the best yield of flavor comes from RDA's, or dripping atomizers. Although you can get very close, if not indistinguishable results from RBA's (e.g. Kayfun series), they tend to be a little more on the maintenance side than RDA's. Building coils for an RDA is super simple, far easier than any Protank or what have you....it's pretty much wrap and screw. I don't find dripping inconvenient at all, but it's not something I'd want to be doing at work or anything like that.

I personally use all of the above methods. I mostly use RDA's/RBA's at home and custom coils in my mini-pro's for on the go. This works well for me and has for quite awhile now, I don't see myself changing anytime soon. I am pretty satisfied with the Nautilus I got in, but I haven't decided whether I feel it's good enough to completely replace my existing investment into the mini-pro's.

Good insight. Most of the "lateral moves" (Ie, from one clearo to the next clearo) usually net minimal improvement (in my experience). The same thing is true with RDAs/RBAs - diminishing returns. You may find marginal increases in flavor and performance, but, relative to $$$ spent, it's difficult to say "it's worth it." In terms of ROI - rebuilding anything... protanks, RDAs, RTAs - will do better than stock heads.

I really wish I could just pay someone to build them for me! This is a lot of great info, thanks. I will see how the nautilus is when I get it in. I'm hoping maybe that it will do the "trick" for a little bit at least. I had been looking at a tank on ibtanked but very good insight about not switching flavors out in it. I hadn't thought about that. But, I always have a tank full of either Betelgeuse, crème brulee, grape ape or queen of hearts. THAT IS..until I run out. I would say ibtanked would not have been for me a couple of months ago before I discovered nicoticket...I would change flavors up all the time because I couldn't stand something all day. That's why I have 8 protanks. lol. But, now, I really only carry 1 or 2 around with me and just extra juice. I just don't know if I have the time involved to start building coils. I know I definitely don't have the space in my desk anymore for more stuff! I was leaning more towards trying the Russian if I was to get into building coils. So, with a reo, what topper goes on that? Anything?

I really enjoyed the nautilus until the coils burnt up. I got started rebuilding on them, and I thought it was pretty easy. Haven't touched it since I got a kayfun, but now that I'm getting the hang of building coils and the right amount of wicking material it will probly be my #2 tank. The flavor is good as it comes, but it really jumps with a micro coil. Airflow is really nice too.

No shame in clones!

There are some clones that have been reviewed to be better made than the originals! I do the you tube thing to review orginals and clones and then make the decision. No shame in clones to be sure.

I can believe anyone can get three weeks out of a carto...wait. that sounds terrible. I CAN believe it, I just can't do it. I am lucky to get a week out of one carto. I like cartos but have too many problems with them.

I love the Aero Tank and the PT2. I think they resolved a lot of the problems I experienced with the PT1. I also have a Nautilus on the way and I am very pleased with my Aspire ETS tanks.

I have an IgoW that I enjoy for a dripper and a Kayfun 3.1 clone that has yet to be built. *hangs head in shame for letting a new shiny sit and not using it*. It will be in use this week. I am excited! Dripping taste with the convenience of a tank.

It does make a difference. I vaped CB on a really good dripper and mech once. It was amazing. As if I had never really tasted the juice before. It was a Castle dripper and I can't remember the mech....both were out of my price range.

I believe, before you spend money on the lesser things, a REO is a great solution. Sounds like a lot of money up front, but it is supposedly one of the best delivery systems. A kayfun and your Provari should also be fabulous. Just my :2c:

Unless you have a lot of disposable income for replacement heads, I would look into re-building the protanks. 30g kanthal, CVS rolled cotton, basic tools, and some time is all you need. This in itself will make a huge improvement over the performance of your stock coils. Add an airflow adapter and you'll be set, until you decide to step up to a different delivery system. The Russian/KFL devices are a bit more finicky to set up, but work well once you find your build. They are also bigger and heavier than the protanks.
Carto' tanks are simpler, but I didn't have a lot of success with flavor and longevity of the carto's.
