I've been trying to wick my fogger for a single coil, it produces nice, but leaks horribly. I have to build for 1.3ohm or better, as that's the max my vamo v5 can do. I'm using 28g kanthal, wrapped to 2mm. I got stuck with the fogger with the big tank, but tiny build deck, so coils have to be small. One coil works perfect, but 2 and they just get hot without turning red. Someone told me I should still be able to run 15w on this, do I need to use 32 or 34g wire for it to work?

I run rayon wicks in a 14 wrap 1.4ohm 30 or 32ga dual coil build on vamos n provari. Your problem is that you need to drop down to at least 30 ga kanthal. I have been running that build forever, works great.

Yeah, I have a hard time getting dual 28's to get hot enough (quickly enough) at 15w.

10 wraps of 30ga around a 3/16" bit should put you near 1.2, high enough for the Vamo. Good symmetric coils/wicking skills help keep the temperature down. Make sure the AFC is open enough, and make do lung hits.

That's been working for me and my VTR lately.

Are you filling the open juice channels with wick? If not, that's the source of your leaks. I've only ever ran mine in single coil mode once and didn't enjoy it. That's when i took the same advice above and stepped down to 30ga. Now running at 1.3ohm on my DNA30 clone and it chucks some hot vapor.

I currently run my Fogger v4s (small deck) at around 1.3 ohms. 28, 29, and 30 ga around a 2.5 mm drill bit, wicked with Japanese cotton (rayon earlier). I have no problems running them at 25-30 w on DNA30 clones (that setup on my v5 and my Cloupor ZNA50 and I can actually go all the way to 50w). Proper wicking is essential though. Just a tad of wicking material in the juice channels, or Kayfun style wicking (though that'll frequently result in leaking).

Thanks guys. I only had 28g and 34g. My fogger is I think a 4.4, with a tiny chimney, I think 3mm outside diameter clearance max for the coils. I had to do dual coils to cover all 4 channels, so used the 34g wire, held the cotton wicks up and cut them off at the top of the chimney base. Stuffed them down to cover the channels and deck, but none in the channels. 3 days and 3 tanks later, zero leaks, zero dry hits! Will be ordering 30g and 32g wire to play with as well, but my Sigelei 100w box should be here by the end of the month so back to 28g then!
