Hey everyone I know that taste is subjective and 1 week may cut it for him but 2 weeks is better for her. But I would like to see a recommended steeping guide for a lot of these that apparently need to steep. I know that Tasty Vapor has recommended steeping times which I find helpful. I just put in an order from MtBakerVapor and asked for recommended steeping times for my order and was told to stick it my desk drawer for 1 - 2 weeks, when I tried to get specific I was told that steeping time is personal preference. I am sorry but that answer just did not cut it for me. So I thought let me hit ECF and see if see we can't get a steeping guide started. I am sure someone could take the data and create a database if they wanted to expand it further. If if find the time I might just do that. I just think that there is a need for this :)

What do ya'll think and who will be the first to contribute? :) :)

And those more experienced with "steeping" answer this question .. can you over steep a juice?

So for format I am thinking:

Vendor:
juice Name:
PG/VG Ratio:
Nic Volume: (if nic volume makes a difference)
Recommended Steep time:
Comments:

As you already stated, its mostly subjective as well as personal preference. Granted, tobacco juices might need more time to blend, but there are some that others said needed two weeks that I could vape right from getting them in the mail, and others that I said needed steeping that others vape right from the mail.

While I do agree with you. There are recommendations from companies that make their juice to order while others shy away from this because it may discourage the selling of their product. And taste is subjective I think that there would be a need for a "general recommended guide". If there were a centralized area this would be awesome especially if ordered x-juice and vaped it right out of the mail box and was like YUCK that is nasty. Typically when someone posts a bad review about a product it is because of initial taste responses from others have found that steeping/blending is suggested and usually remedied the situation. That would be the purpose of this a centralized x amount of days worked for them this is what it was and this is the result they had.

And while taste is purely subjective and one based on personal preference we would not watch juice reviews. We watch them to get a general idea of what to expect should the review sway us to buy. :)

Okay I will start it out:

Vendor:
tastyvapor.us

Juice Name:
Mix your own Peach (sweetened)

PG/VG Ratio:
40/60

Nic Volume:
12mgs

Recommended Steep time
:3 days

Comments:Right out of the mail this is very in your face bordering a perfume taste after a few days the taste mellows out. Not so much in your face as much as the taste of Peach you get from a Peach Tea, or a diluted peach jolly rancher. It is a nice mellow vape, There has not been much of a taste change from day 3 to now (approx 2 weeks)

This is a tough one. Some juices I buy from the exact same vendor & are mixed the same day require different times for me. For example MBV cinnamon roll steeps for a week with the cap off for me but butterscotch 3 days with the cap off. Good luck trying to get a more concrete answer!

That is what I am trying to get done here if MVB Cinnamon roll took 1 week for you before it was optimum then someone else who is ordering it or considering ordering it knows that and won't immediately say that the juice is bad or give MVB a bad review same with the Butterscotch if 3 days is ideal then someone who ordered butterscotch can try it at the 3 day mark instead of waiting 1 - 2 weeks that they may think is the recognized steep time :)

I know that there won't be a concrete answer but it is just a recommended guideline based on your experiences. :)

First let me say that the consent of being able to look up how long to wait (on average) would be pretty stellar. But they are right about the subjectivity to a point. Pretty sure that for some juices steeping is more the rule than the exception. A spread sheet where there were a variety of examples with an average might be more helpful. But also scads more work.

I'm sure it would benefit new people most. But that would only happen once they actually grasped the consent of the need to steep and what too fresh e-liquid smells/tastes like sadly.
