"Basically we only put 4 ingredients in our juices. nicotine,pg,vg,flavor. We DO NOT put water, alcohol or any other kind of cut in our juices."

This vendor acknowledges that he strictly uses FlavourArt. The question then becomes do we believe he adds nothing more to his juice or that he is mistaken? He's one of the leading proponents of steeping. At least TV admits he adds a "special ingredient" and I choose not to vape his because of that.

Yeah if you're talking about who I think you are, I'm not a big fan of the juice even though they seem like nice people. I never noticed any difference in their juice from out of the mail to however long it sat. Curious that they said they're going to offer pre-aged, but you can't blame a vendor for catering to public perception.

I've found that made-to-order juice is about as good as it ever gets by the time it arrives in my mailbox. I've not found a juice that got better over time.

DIY does absolutely require steeping. I usually let it steep until the color changes slightly. Different flavorings change to different colors but it's pretty obvious when it happens.

I don't know how else to describe a juice that goes from hair spray to delicious cigar in the space of a couple of weeks, but I saw it happen myself.
Vapenstein,
It has happened to me and countless others, but with presteeped Dekang. One flavor I recall giving me a hard time was DK-Tab...The first puff was ..Whoa!!! what the hell is this...liquorice? cinnamon? listerene? dunno, but it had a sharp strong tang to it that I did not like one bit, and it was looking like 30ml was headed to the toilet.

Kept it and tried it a few days later, hmm ..not quite so bad, but still couldn't pinpoint the mysterious flavor.....long story short, after two weeks I was paranoid and thinking if the supply for this stuff should dry up, I'll to have to go back to logs, and my top priority was now to find the recipe at all cost. Subsequent bottles btw were good from day one.

I have a few mls left in a bottle from a few months ago, I dripped some the other day, it's alright, not bad, but other than for reference I have little interest in it anymore. I've tried making it myself and come very close, it is predominately methyl cyclopentenolone, but the signature flavor eludes me still.

I realize that a lot of people are hanging their hat on steeping for one reason or another (bad choice of words to begin I think) so I think it might be around for awhile, but there will be argument, with some adamantly for it and some adamantly against it. From experience I firmly believe it is psychological.

Fantastic Question btw.

1. How long on average should a juice steep?
1- 1 1/2 weeks on average

2. Does the juice need to sit with the cap off for one day?
Not necessary IMO, although some think it is.

3. Does the juice need to be in a dark place? Can it be touched or sampled regularly?
Some think that light penetration can ruin your juice, although I don't believe regular incandescent bulbs will ruin your juice. Although direct sunlight on a hot day will ruin your juice.
Yes you can sample it regularly, it should not effect the steeping process.

4. Does container shape/size affect steeping time? for instance, I have a 60ml bottle of juice, if I break it up into 12 5ml containers would it steep quicker? What if I took 10ml of juice and put it in a large shallow dish, would it steep quicker as most of the surface is exposed to air?
It's possible that having smaller amounts of juice in a bigger bottle may make it steep quicker.
Not quite sure on this question.

5. does oxygen affect steeping time, or resulting flavor?
Not quite sure

6. What types of flavors need to steep longer?
Tobacco flavors, IMO this is a personal opinion question.

7. do PG/VG ratios and Nic mg effect steeping time?
It's possible the higher the VG the longer the steeping due to it being so thick.

8. What affect do temperatures have on steeping?
Well really hot temperatures can and will ruin your juice. When steeping keep it room temperature.

9. If I am mixing 2 steeped flavors, do they have to steep again?
It would make sense to, so the two flavors being mixed have time to bond ;)

10.For DIY flavors, is there a correlation between the taste of fresh mixed juice and the taste of steeped juice. for instance, when you freshly mix a juice, do you know by the taste that it will be better once it steeps? do you know by the taste that it will be a failure reguardless of steeping?
No, I have done this many times when making juice. You can make a flavor that tastes horrid, let it steep for 1-1 1/2 weeks and its delicious.

11. When making adjustments to flavors, should you steep each time? and for how long?
Yes, but steeping should not take nearly as long.

12. juice sitting still? or juice moving while steeping?
Sitting Still

13. What is your steeping technique?
I put it in a dark room "closet for example" for 1-1 1/2 weeks. then enjoy :vapor:

I hope I was able to help you. A lot of hard questions you get there, all very good questions as well, they should be placed as a sticky.
However, I do believe steeping a flavor for to long will compromise the taste of your juice. I do not recommend steeping juice for long then 1-1 1/2 weeks

uh.. could someone help me out here..

Is this guy being sarcastic and making fun of the op, or is he serious.....no really!....I really don't know!

He calls himself a supplier, if he is being serious, then you would need a brick inside your head for a brain to even think of buying from him.

Is it just me, or did ecf recently go belly up.
