Post Edits...whats the dealio?!?

Why can I see an edit function for a post I just created; but once I navigate away (or any old posts), I can no longer edit.

weird. never seen that on a forum before; usually you can edit whenever. seems a bit silly to me.

Well I do not have an answer for you as to why that is--just an answer to what it does.

I believe it would be in place so that a post, once into discussion, cannot be changed and cause issues and disarray to the ongoing topic at hand. It could throw everything out of sync, making the topic confusing or non-sensible.

This is only what "I" believe is the thought behind it, and may differ from that of SJ's decision to use this option.
