With all the cat avatars floating about around here, I'm surprised there
aren't more kitties posted in this
thread!
Gizmo, the tuxedo cat, adopted US back in 2005. His old home brought in
a puppy and he wanted nothing to do with it. So, he left his brother and
two other feline playmates to come live with us. He's 13 and still the alpha
cat of the neighbourhood, putting all younger wanna-bes in their place
quickly.
Ty-Grr was adopted from a shelter in 2007 when he was 3. Nobody has
clued him in to the fact he's not a kitten any longer. He's spring-loaded and
wants to be friends with everybody and everything. He made friends with a
transient badger this past Spring and into Summer and keeps looking for it
where it was burrowing.
T'mato is another shelter kitty, rescued literally minutes before his
appointment with The Needle in '08. He came from an abusive household
where, it appears, they did a home-job in declawing him. He's 4 now and
just recently really started to "come around" and trust us. A porker at 21
pounds, he gets around slowly (damaged front paws) and has a purr to
match his size.
