Potentially dumb idea, but... a gift for Obama?

So, it crossed my mind the other night while I was sitting and vaping and hearing a story on the news about Obama's "beer summit" that since Obama is a known smoker trying to quit... maybe we as a community should reach out to him and gift him an e-cig starter kit!

What better way to get our product the positive recognition it deserves than to get the "leader of the free world" hooked on them. :p

(Ok, I know this is a really bad idea in all likelihood, but it make me giggle at the thought, and if someone out there has an idea on how to pull it off safely or gets a brilliant idea based on this, then all the better!)

I'm inclined to think that the President of the United States is full aware and has been briefed on the electronic devices. The problem is, whether or not he even enjoys the product, he cannot dispute the numbers. He has risen the tax on tobacco for help fund for healthcare (so he says).

Unless Joye 510 from China doubles their prices to pay for American taxes .....

He has no plans on funding health care. If you see the actual stuff that hes doing, hes cutting health care if anything.

    Don't tobacco taxes cover SCHIP?

SCHIP being a socially funded insurance program for children whose parents can't afford health care.

It's gonna be hard to battle that. All the FDA would have to say is, "not only are they selling these devices to kids, but these devices are also challenging the source of funding for the insurance of the poorest children in our nation."

No good deed goes unpunished. Giving him one of these devices will solve nothing. He's a smoker. Everyone knows this. Yet he still signed into law a federal tax increase on all tobacco products with loose "roll-your-own" tobacco taking the brunt of it. If you're looking for sympaty or even for him to "be on our team", I think our efforts would be better spent elsewhere. You may as well send him a free gun and a bag of grass with a letter saying, "See? This stuff ain't so bad!"

No apoligy needed. It is good to discuss things. And bringing back up a subject is helpful to new people anyway.

Agreed. Obama is always a tempting alternative because the man presents himself as the sort of intelligent chap who could see past the FDA's bull**** and as President, you would think he could do something about it.

Unfortunately, our President is still a politician and its kinda hard to be idealistic and a politician at the same time. Best we can do here is disseminate correct information and hopefully some of it will trickle up.

I am quite sure he vapes in the White House. Bans in this country seem to never be honored within those walls. Presidents for years still get their ample supply of Cuban Cigars at the snap of a finger, even though it's banned in the US. Electronic Cigarettes will be no different to a president who smokes.

It's your typical "do as we say, not as we do" mentality.

I think its a great idea. I think all of us should send him one e-cig. It would let him know how serious we are about our pv's. It would be sort of like a petition with e-cigs instead of signatures. Whether he vapes or not is beside the point although it would be cool if he did. We should send him a messege he cant ignore. A million man e-march.

I would not waste my money on giving the president something, all the **** he takes from me he's had enough from me, and will continue to get **** from me out of my control. It's about time he gives me something that doesn't suck.
