I needed coils for my PT3 and decided to try the organic cotton. Since then, sometime when I draw it cuts power completely and the power light flashes a few times. I checked the coil with the on board ohm reader and everything was good. I cleaned the contact and even tried pulling the pin out a bit to ensure I was getting good contact but nothing helped. I assumed that I got a bad coil so I popped in a new one and the same thing is happening. The strange thing is that is is random and it is hit or miss. When it happens, it acts like the device would if I reached the time limit on my draw but I'm only pulling for 2-3 seconds before it happens. I'm frustrated and have no idea what else to troubleshoot. Any ideas or suggestions?

You have a short most likely internally. Another sign is seeing your ohms reading jumping around. The short comes from atty loose 510 connection.

Try another atty on your MVP, if it works the issue is with your protank, in which case its most likely its either the base or the coils causing a partial open and a high resistance connection. What that would do is make the mod need to pump out more volts/amps to overcome the increased resistance, and if the battery is low or it goes out of range, the power button will flash.

If different toppers are giving you issues with the MVP then the problem is very likely the 510 connector, most probably the spring being stuck and needing to be exercised a little.

I have a similar issue with my MVP 3.0.

The 510 connector on top is loose, so I have to make sure the atty is cranked down tight every time I use it. Even when the atty is tight, the 510 connector itself can move by like 1/4 of a degree counter-clockwise, and then my Ohm reading jumps to a ridiculous level. I usually run a build on it that reads about 0.7 Ohms, and when I get an extremely hard hit, I have caught readings on the exact same build of nearly 3.2 Ohms!

Sometimes, apparently at random, it just quits entirely, and I have to plug it into a charger to get it to fire up again. By "quits entirely" I mean it shuts off and cannot be turned back on...it must be plugged in before it will work again, no matter how much of a charge remains in the battery.

At this point, I want to take it apart and see if I can tighten anything internally...there must be something loose in there that's causing this.
