This morning we were awakened to a call from my MIL teling us FIL was on his way to the hospital. Apparently he had a mini stroke sometime between last night and this morning. Last I heard from dh at the hospital he's in good spirits. They are keeping him overnight because apparently these can come in multiples. I can't get ahold of anyone at the hospital now and I haven't heard from them in several hours, so all I can do is hope and pray. I'm just a little worried because dh is usually quick with the good news, but he'll ignore my calls until he can tell me bad news in person. It's probably fine, but I'm a worrier and sometimes just need a little talking down.

Thank you. That's good to know. I've never been through the stroke process before. He started having twitches in his foot, and can feel a little bit in it. They still don't know why it happened so the hunt is on for that now. He might be there for a few days. I'm so grateful for all of you here. The love and prayers are felt and the cute pet pics are cheering me up quite nicely.

Many prayers for you and your family through this tough time. I've dealt with many strokes in my family, my best friends father had one just last week.. with her father last week, he was in the hospital for about five days to assess him and determine further needs, and now he is in a rehab center for about three weeks for PT/OT. My mother had one recently and was in the hospital for just a few days and then sent straight home, so I think it should be based on what his needs will be for continued care. The up side of all of that was in all cases I knew of, they were able to get them on the right medicines and knew what to look for in the future. Thoughts and prayers for you and yours, please continue to update us! ♥

Oh Daisyd so sorry! I know the power of prayer first hand and you have mine.

My Father had an episode with blood on the brain that just about crippled me with worry but hes completely back to his normal self now. It took a while to recover and he needed some help during that time (hes a stubborn mule and would never admit that), but he made it! While in that situation I found the most AMAZING video on TED. Its a woman who actually studies the brain and had a stroke herself and her explaining the experience. It was life changing to me then and I still go back and watch it every once in a while when I want to be reminded of just how remarkable we are as humans.

If you have the want you can see it here:
