What is the main reason for people using rebuildables ?
I like cloud chasing and with my TFV12 using my X4 i can do just that, i was considering getting a rebuildable coil but don't know if i should ?

Are they better for cloud chasing, and is it easy to do?
I've read some people saying you get more clouds, some people saying you get less clouds...
Thanks

In addition to all the money you save, you also get the opportunity to try different builds and variations. You can wind a single coil, compressed or expanded. If you like dual coil atomizers for higher wattage and more vapor and flavor, you can do that. Some get into Clapton or twisted dual wires and there's no end to the creativity you can utilize if you are into that. You can decide whether you want to vape low resistance, medium resistance, or high resistance and pick the wicking material that you want.

Now, here's the clincher. Al you need is a roll of the wire of your choice and a big bag of cotton balls to get started. That's maybe $10 at the most and it will last you a year or more. You'll need a set of miniature screwdrivers and maybe a pair of scissors if you eventually start to use Kho Gen Do cotton squares.

I think the Biggest Benefit (although Cost is right up there) is the ability to Fine Tune the type of Hit you get by using Different types of Builds.

It costs alot less & flavour can be better but if your happy with your X4 coils then stick with them. I still use factory coils an I've vaped for 8 years. Nothing wrong with them if they work for you. Sub ohming ain't my thing but if you enjoy your tfv12 an can afford the coils stick with it :)

Cost is a biggie, although a friend who vapes the TFV4 told me he gets a month from a coil. That's way more than I get from a home made cotton wick, although I get more than a month from a Kayfun coil. I change wicks during a refill once or twice a week just because I like fresh flavor. Coils only need to be changed when the metal starts to look rusty and rough.

Lately, there's been medical and scientific concerns about dry burning DIY coils. The alumina coating flakes off and can travel in tiny flakes with the vapor. We don't want metal in our lungs. In case that's true, I wind a new coil when it no longer looks smooth and shiny.

Any coil tastes like crap after one whole month of use. Does it work? Yes. Kind of. At least it vaporizes the liquid.
Is it enjoyable? Certainly not.

It all Depends on How Many ml's a person Vapes per day. And what type of e-Liquid/Wattage Settings/Airflow a person is using.

I think there is a Lot of Unsubstantiated "Talk" about Dry Burning floating around the Internet. Hard to wade thru what is Fact and what is Fiction?

Or under What Conditions things Can/Can't occur?

Some people say that Aluminum Oxides form a Protective Layer on Kanthal(s). Which is supposed to be Good. But some say that this Oxide Layer only occurs when the Kanthal is Heated to Dry Burn Temps.

Exactly I've had certain liquids shorten the lifespan by up to a week.
@mimöschen I've had two months out of T18 could so no not all taste rubbish after a month.

I'm on the fence about the dry burning issue, too. I have noticed that after a few weeks to a month or two that nice shiny alumina coating from the dry burn turns to a rough surface that isn't retrievable. When I see that I recoil. Wire is cheap.

Yeah... I find it Hard to say, One way or the Other, just what is or isn't going on Based on what I have Read.

I Dry Burn all my New Coils. But at Very Low Wattage. And only enough to see that they are heating from the Center Out. And Not to the Angry Orange that I have seen some Reviewer/How To Vid do.

BTW - Regarding Aluminum Oxides. What do you think the ph Level is for the e-Liquid(s) that you usually use?

Electrolysis? Wow... That might Explain my gradual Hair Loss. LOL.

BTW - Since the Wire in a Coil is a Better Conductor of Electricity than the e-Liquid, how much Electrolysis of the e-Liquid is occurring?

BTW2 - You might want to Check the ph Level of your e-Liquid. Because I believe that Aluminum Oxides are stable in the 7 ~ 9 ph range.

I have no idea about PH in juice. My juices are generally single flavor tobaccos of various brands at 60pg/40vg with 3% to 6% nic. Last night during a re-wick I replaced a month old SS316L coil because it was beginning to turn a dull brownish after cleaning with a little roughness in feel. I like smooth.

My coils vary from .5 ohms to .7 ohm, vaped at 10W. Sometimes with a new wick I vape at 8W until the wick breaks in. I usually consult Steam Engine to make sure that heat capacity is green.

One thing that I noticed once I moved to using Pre-Coiled Coils is I tended to Replace the Coil in my builds more often. And most of the time when I Re-Wick, I put in a Fresh Coil also. Whereas when I made the Coils Myself, I would try to Eek Out as much life from the Coil before making a New One.

Having 10 Bucks worth of these coils...

$2.20 Authentic MKWS 316 Stainless Steel Pre-Coiled Wires for RBA Atomizers (50-Pack) - 26 AWG / 0.4mm dia. / 0.32ohm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

... makes it Easy to just Pop In a New Coil.
