i believe the MT3 coils uses the a 2 mm wick with six wraps of wire.
the wraps have a bigger cap in the middle effectively making it two series circuit coils.
and two 1 mm wicks "flavors wicks" on top of the wires.

you might get away with using one 3 mm wick with a coil wrapped round it. i never liked using this style of clearomizer with out flavor wicks.

after i made this post
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...586-kanger-evod-how-re-wick.html#post12575982
a few people told me they do the same thing to there MT3 coils.

i do pretty much the same thing on my Fogger v3 (its like a giant rebuildable bottom coil clearomizer) love the results.

the coils in the link you posted use NR-R-NR wires so they are pretty much like what comes from the kanger factory.
you can try them. i don't see any reason why not other than they might not fit well and you would waste like 3 bucks + shipping.

you can also get the wires here $3.25 Pre-made Welded Wires - NR-R-NR (100-Pack) 100-pack - 0.18mm (33 AWG) / 2.2ohm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
then you could get whatever wick you want and make your own.

these are made by arc welding the NR (non resistance) wire to a R (resistance) wire.
you can buy or build your own non resistance arc welder and make them your self.
the arc welder could be really dangerous (lethal) if you fail to fallow safety precautions in the process of making it or using it.

They have some that are not welded wire that I use in my protank. They work really well for me. When I replace them, I stick a needle through the center of the wire coil so that it sits at the right height as I finish putting the bottom together and clip the excess off the wire legs. I have bought the single wick and the 4 wick versions. Both work well for me. Better than the Kanger originals IMO.

with out the NR-R-NR wire you run the risk of melting the rubber grommet.

Thanks happydave for info. I didn't know that the wick inside the coil can be changed. I usually dry burn it and change the flavour wicks.

Now I look forward to changing the wick inside the coil. :D

One noob question here. Is there any difference on flavour wicks and wicks? I've just changed the wick inside the coil using a 2mm wick and the vape tasted yucky. :(

did you replace it with silica?

i use a butane torch lighter on my silica. doing this removes anything that should not be on the silica and does not hurt the silica at all. i get the silica wick glowing white and slowly move the flame down the wick making sure as i do it i keep the heated section glowing white...
hold one end of the wick with a pair of pliers. and be super careful after your done torching it. it will be really hot for a minute or two after you stop torching it.
if your silica wick melts or burns when torching it. i would not trust it.
i get my wick from this vendor http://www.lightningvapes.com/

i get my wick from this vendor Lightning Vapes - Florida - All the RBA Materials you need! Silica Wick, Ekowool, Kanthal Wire, and more!
No wonder it tasted yucky. Can I use a lighter to torch it? And also the silica wick that I put on top of the coil needs to be pre-torched first also?

needs to be a torch lighter. a bic will not work.
and yes i torch all the wicks.
if the coil is really dirty you can dry burn it with out the wick in. basically remove the wicks and hit the power button well blowing on the coil. dont let it glow to much but a little is ok. if the coil glows for to long it will warp and become garbage.
if you can turn the volts or watts all the way down on your mod before you dry burn.

Seems to be a lot of work to get one coil up and running. Will have to go to my nearest DIY shop and look for the torch lighter since bic does not work.

Basically I've learned the part of dry burning the coil. Next step is learn to re-wick the coil. Boy, sure lots of things to learn here. :)

Aren't the non welded wires just like wrapping your own? Welded wires seem to be wrapped with the wraps touching each other. I have not seen this on a factory Kanger coil. I have been using the non welded for a couple of months with no burned grommets, but then again, my grommets are silicone rubber opposed to a standard white rubber that I have seen used. Could be wrong I guess, but they have been working great for me.

Arrgh. I can't seem to find a cheap butane torch from my local vape store. The cheapest I can find is from FT here $2.13 Tiny Butane Jet Torch Lighter at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping which looks OK to me. What do you guys think?

While I'm at it, I've been reading the forum and find there are lots of people talking about the kayfun and saying how good the flavour and experience. Since I'm still a noob, I have thought of getting this also from FT, $21.24 Kayfun v3.1 ES Styled Rebuildable Atomizer (4.5ml) - stainless steel / black plated at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Your experience input will be greatly appreciated. :)
