I smoked for 25 years and only vape 0.5ml - 1ml a day and that's at 6mg on an ego-c system.

Nothing weird about it if that's all you need. You'll save a shed ton of money if you can stick to that and not get the buying frenzy as long as what you're used to still satisfies you. No need to chain vape all day if you don't fill the need either, I caught myself doing it and thought to myself 'what are you doing hotwire?' I realized i was because I COULD. Now I treat it like having a cig, just have a few draws until I feel satisfied and then get on with my life until I would have normally had another cigarette and then vape around 5 - 10 draws again and put it away.

No need to get obsessed with it or let it become a hobby if you don't need to. For me it's just a less harmful replacement, not a hobby and I hope I never do need over 1ml a day, don;t see the point. Only smoked around 7 a day for the past year anyway, so my vape patterns now match that and I no longer chain vape because I can.

Just some simple advice if you want to keep it cheap and simple.

Good post, Hotwire.

When I first logged onto this forum I swore I would not let myself get caught up in all the upgrades, modifications, and expenses. It's only been a couple of weeks but so far I have stuck to that. I'm really hoping to keep it that way because I am saving a good deal of money already. An added bonus that I like very much.

I have to admit that I do like the looks of some of the high end stuff, like the Provari Mini for example, but I certainly don't need those things to enjoy the experience. As long as I can hold that train of thought, my bank account will continue to thank me.

For me it's all about two good juices that don't ruin atties and an egot or c set up. Honestly. When I smoked I didn't buy a different brand each week, so I only feel the need these days to have 3 juices

1. A clear, mid flavor tobacco

2. A good menthol

3. RY5

Number one is really only for mixing with the other two so they're not so sweet when I feel like it.

I like the look of the box shaped bottom feeders that store a whole bottle of juice as that look so maintenance free, but nah, would just be an impulse buy. Guess I'm easily pleased. Swapped one harmful thing for one much less harmful replacement, that's it really. I'm almost at the point (just re-started vaping over a week ago) already where I hardly think about it much now I know what juice to get and where from and how to look after and maintain an ego atty.

That's only because I already did the hard trial and error back in the day a couple of years back when I vaped for around 8 months. I will admit it took a while to get to the 'it's just a simple daily thing I do a few times a day and maybe chain vape a bit watching tv after work, but don't really have to think about it much, just like with cigs.' Biggest things were

1. As like I said, learning how to look after attys (dark juices are evil)

2. Finding those juices I like and which brand

3. Learning to prefill 5 tanks or so on a Sunday afternoon (only vape around 1ml a day if that) so each day I can just take one out and have one ready to put in - that's the way I like it, no big intrusion on my daily schedule.

4. Have a few back up attys always in a drawer.

I see how others get into the hobbyist aspect of it though and I hope I meet other vapers when I go back to uni in Sept to do my MA. I've never had a non virtual vaper friend before!!
