You can definitely do it but if possible, teach yourself. It's not that difficult and more importantly, you can customize to your liking! You may find you like a certain number of wraps or a certain gauge of wire better than others. For example, i'm all about the twisted 28g these days. For the kayfun, start out with a basic microcoil and cotton wick. Get some 28 gauge kanthal, do a 7/8 or 8/9 wrap and you're good to go. The only pre-wrapped coils I've seen use silica, which I don't prefer. What mod are you using? In general, for a kayfun, I like 1.1-1.3ohms but it's all personal preference.

its so easy and fun to make your own coils and the cost is next to nothing. once you understand ohms/watts laws rebuildables will be easier. larger gauge wire = higher resistance/ohms which takes more voltage to get heat/vapor. more wraps = higher resistance/ohms which takes more voltage to get heat/vapor. basically the more Kanthal wire you use, the higher the resistance/ohms will be. thats why alot of people are going sub-ohm on mechanical mods. .3 ohm coils get hot quick which produces vapor quickly. The only drawback people might have with sub-ohming is you have a higher chance of dry hitting and the vapor is warm, not cool like on higher ohm coils.

Any of the veterans correct me if im wrong. im still fairly new to vaping, but have learned alot in the last 60 days. =)

I would never use coils and wicks someone else made, and pay them for that. I didn't start rebuilding for that. With an RBA your control is how YOU build it. I like having that control, and knowing what I've got. Kanthal is cheap, so is mesh, silica, and cotton. A small investment in time and effort learning to do that yourself is well worth it, saves you money, and eliminates a middleman.

Making your own juice eliminates another middleman. I'm all about eliminating the middlemen, and doing so has served me very well.

I'm not sure but you can try my vape store online. They have genuine products and very fast shipping. Also excellent customer service. I know they carry some pre made wicks and coils for some rbas but I'm not certain if theyes have your specific brand but it's worth checking. I purchase most of my supplies from them. They have always been very good. Before I learned to make my own coils I bought a few pre built for my RDA from them. Prices are very good as well. Hope ths, helps

Im sure you meant higher number, but just to clarify, a larger gauge wire has LESS resistance. The lower the number the larger the gauge. For example, 28 gauge kanthal is smaller than 26 gauge kanthal. So a higher number has higher resistance, but it is a smaller gauge not larger..

In fairness, you are 100% correct about RBAs.

On a Kanger T3S (as an example mentioned in this thread) buying a 3p (5c) premade can be OK.

As I've already said, the Fasttech ones I have are no use at all on a proper RBA.

I agree for RBA/RDA's there's really not much incentive to buy pre-made coils. It's easy to learn and that's pretty much the whole point with those devices is to build your ultimate rig.

I do use pre-made coils from Fastech in all my Kanger type products though. I prefer their NR-R-NR coils as they eliminate most of the possibility of incurring that burnt rubber taste from frying the coil insulating grommet... Given the price ($3.30) for 50, it's cost effective verses buying a wire welder.

You can buy them in some places, but it's cheaper (and more fun!) to build them yourself.

To answer your second question, I run an EHPro kayfun on my eVic at about 1.5 ohms. Generally, you want to be in the 1.2 to 1.7 range for the best performance. I've had a lot of success with 28 guage kanthal in a 3/32" coil (about 8 or 9 wraps). Here's a video that covers the build that has worked the best for me:

I have no idea where to buy the right wire, and where to get the pipe with the right diameter, and I realy dont want to boil cotton. I bought a RBA just that it would go nicely with my eVic, that I realy like, and if someday I want to build my own coils to have that option, but right now I realy dont want to do that, because I realy cant boil cotton in my house and I realy cant have some wires and screwdriver heads laying around.

I wish that the rebuilding fans would remember that not everyone wants to or can build their own coils. I personally don't think I'd be able to attach the wires either, so I'm not even looking at rbas or rdas, but it is entirely reasonable for people to look at buying coils, for a number of reasons.

I have been useing fasttech 1.8ohm 4 wick silica premades they are ok i like my own 28gauge kanthal better. Im useing 2.5silica wick n it iz awesome but the premades for less than 3 bucks for 50 arent that bad just know their limits and meter them after installed in atomizer to be sure ur safe.
