I purchase plain vg and plain pg along with 48% nic both in pg and vg and then cut the nic down to whatever ratio and nic level I desire. The factory bottles are stored in a dark cabinet safely in my bathroom. For example, I just created 120 Mls of 50/50 - 12% base and will further use that mixture to make smaller bottles by adding various flavors.

My question - Should this interim mix be kept in a dark container?

I currently use a small, short, fat, wide mouth recycled "olive" jar made of clear glass for temporary storage. It may sit on my mixing desk for 1 to 2 days before I consume it all. The wide mouth makes life easier to access with my syringe. The jar was readily available from the kitchen trash. (Yes, thoroughly cleaned...)

I'm going to assume you're using 48mg nic, which would be 4.8%.

Just want to be sure, in case it's possible to actually buy that, though I wouldn't trust myself

In regards to the bottle at your mixing station. If light hits it, I would use a dark bottle, or you could wrap it with aluminum foil. This would be sufficient. While the wide mouth jar may be handy, you do want to keep the nic away from as much oxygen as possible. Granted you use it quickly. If you're taking what you need and sealing it up asap, you should be fine. I actually put blue painters tape on top after opening my mix and just pierce the tape with the needle. This way, I don't feel like I need to rush to close it up.
