If it's getting burnt, either you have something set too high, or the wicking isn't right.

Just my assumption. I'm a bit of a noob myself but I've had hell with wicking since I started. The only method I've found accurate for making sure your wicking is "perfect" is whether or not you can spin the wick in the coil. Meaning, pinch one end of the wick between two fingers, and twist; if the other end spins, your wick should be good.

Although the ends could be too long and (from what I am seeing) that is a Kanger tank. If so, the method I used for mine was (take this in conjunction with what I said above) wick the coil, turn the ends of the wick up and slip the barrel over them and tighten it down. Trim the wick even with the top of the barrel, and take a spare piece of kanthal and poke them down into the barrel where the juice channels are. DON'T stuff it in there, but push it down and keep it "fluffy"

Took me a while to get it right, but when you do, you will know. You'll be able to take the longest hit you can, with zero burning flavor, and no leaking.

(also, before you wick a coil, clean it. Hold the entire setup sideways, get the coil red hot, and hit it with some warm water. Obviously DO NOT get your battery/mod wet. Gotta clean the oils from your fingers off of the coil)

Using 1.2ohm micro coils. I'm sure I'm wicking it correctly and have the post hole screws tightened down all the way. Primed the coils for a few minutes and still getting a burnt taste after a few pulls.

if you are getting a burnt taste after a few pulls it means your wicking isn't keeping up with the power level you are running.
either use a lower power level or avoid chain vaping on that setup.
Maybe the juice channels are too small for the power you are running, or maybe you have the juice channels clogged with wick.

At 1.4 ohms and 16 watts you're putting 4.73 volts through it. I'm not sure what tank that is, but a lot of single coil tanks are much happier at 3.8-4ish volts. Try bumping down to more like 10-13 watts and see what happens.

The way that juice looks pretty toasty in the wick makes me think it's definitely getting overheated. Seems like you're cooking the juice before it even makes it to the coil, which would confirm too much power.
