After almost a year of vaping, I feel as though I need to upgrade my equipment. I'd like to work my way into mechanical mods, and the SuperT products seem to be right up my alley. I've been doing my fair share of research, but there are a couple of questions that I still have. I'm trying to decide between the P10 and P16, but there's a good chance that I'll get em both

1. I've seen a few videos of some of the older SuperT models, and they had a locking button to prevent accidental activation. Do the current models still have this?

2. I read in one of the threads here that there is an option to get the PVs vented. I know that there's some debate as to whether or not venting is necessary, but I've always subscribed to the "better safe than sorry" camp. How do I go about ordering a vented P10/P16? I didn't see that as an option in the website.

Thanks in advance for everyone's input, and I hope to join the SuperT family soon.

Ykruss pretty much covered it all. No problem on the Venting the P16 or P18. Just make a note on your order. I do not vent the P10's, they now only run the safe chemistry IMR 10440. As far as locking button, i have designed a locking button for another mod that will also be a drop in, 100% compatible with all existing P16's and P18's that i will make available when it comes to light.

Thanks, that sounds awesome. I hope to be placing my order soon.

This will be my first mechanical mod so I'm extremely excited. The best part of it is that my last name begins with a "P" so I can pretend that the engraved button was personalized just for me! Just out of curiosity, has anyone every tried to convert the switch from a spring to a magnet? I'm sure that it's not necessary, but I like tinkering around with my gadgets and have converted spring triggers to magnetic triggers.

A question on batteries. I don't know much about the difference between all the mod batteries available. The P10 kit comes with two IMR high drain batteries that are 350mah. There are also AW 350mah and Trustfire 600mah batteries available for purchase. How do the IMR and AW batteries differ? Aside from a higher capacity, how is the Trustfire battery different? Which would you recommend?

It is not possible to use magnets on the Precise. The Precises switch is unique in that it features a double grounding design to promote consistent button firing (mechanical switches are notorious for hit or miss action when depressed). With the double grounding feature, there is a machined in ledge inside the body itself that the switch spring grounds against as well as friction grounding between the switch and the end cap it passes through. It makes for a much more reliable switch that requires much less frequent cleaning and re-noaloxing.

The Trustfire 10440's are not a true 600mah, more like around 200mah and they no longer fit in the redesigned shorter Precise due to their longer length. Go with the AW or IMR 10440, both give similar performance.

Hope that helps!

David

Thanks for that explanation on the switch and batteries. When ordering the kit, will the charger that comes with it charge batteries for both the 10440 and 16340? If so then I only need to order one kit (i.e. 10440 kit with charger, a separate P16 and batteries). Sorry for all these noob questions. I just don't want to order an extra charger if it's not necessary.

That is the feature I like about the Precise the most. I can rest assured that the Precise will fire each and every time. I owned other mechanical mods that had magnets in the button, the problem lies when you press the button directly in the center you loose contact, it drove me nuts one day until I figured out it was those darn magnets. Popped a spring back in and back to normal again. The Precise is much different in that spring is always touching the body and supplying current to the atty. You are not relying on the button to be touching the side of the switch assembly to get your current. You can't go wrong with the Precise no matter which model you decide to go with. I would suggest getting the P16 to start out with. Use the AW IMR 16340 and either a LR 510 or 306 and you just can't find a better vape in such a small package.

Great picture! Honestly, I would like to order both the P10 and P16. Based on what I've read, I know that I'll be really happy with them. With respects to the P10 and P16 kits, do they come with the same charger (a multicharger that can accommodate both 10440 and 16340 batts)? Or do I have to order a full kit of each model? I'm so tempted to place my order now, but I want to make sure I don't order more than I need (by this I am only referring to the charger).

path77 if you ever want to try 5+ volt vaping, you won't be able to do it in the P16. The P18 gives you the option to do 3.7 or 5+ vaping. I've only used the 5v vaping a couple x, but WOW it sizzles right out of the gate. If you have some older atomizers that you like, but they are waning in quality, the higher voltage will keep them going even longer, and 5v's is great for keeping your attys cleaned.

i never knew that about your switch david (magnets stuff). i wondered if i could put my RE magnets in there instead of a spring. that answers my pondering the question also. knowing nothing about electronics, you guys lost me about the double grounding speak lol, but all i know is it works! My p18 is going to be smooth as silk when i get it back, so no need to mess around with the spring w/magnets.

Also Path, i will say david is right about the trustfires. I have 3 of the gray 18650's and they do vary in length, etc from poor quality control. I couldn't screw down the top of my p18 completely with them. David designed it with precision, so his recommends are always the best.

I just placed my order for a P10 kit, a P16 and a couple 16340 batts. This is going to be a long 2 week wait. Hopefully I get lucky and I won't have to wait that long :sneaky:

For now, I am happy with vaping at 3.7V with an LR atty, but eventually I will try out the higher voltage mods. This order should hold me down for a while so for now I'll be happy and wait for the SuperT top feeder mod to be released.

you did good! i agree with LR atty's they are so satisfying and seem to be long lasting, that over 3.7 isn't a necessity. just a variety option, but the sacrifice is the extra length of the mod. looking at that pic of the p16 got me thinking too lol.

what's this about a new top feeder?!! different from the vapemate sidewinder thingie? i'd be up for a 2.5ml top tank if david makes one. no worries about engineering on his stuff. i think he tries out his inventions on his mom first :p

now i have to go search the T forum to see about this new top feeder lol

In anticipation, I'm looking for some cartomizers to use with the P10 and P16. With the great design and looks of these PVs, I would prefer to keep everything the same color...meaning SS cartos. I will use the included LR attys while at home, but I want to use cartos while out of the house. The only place that I have been able to find them in SS (or is it aluminum?) is at Ikenvape. The only problem is that the one's he has available are 2.5Ω. I would prefer if they were a lower resistance, somewhere in the 2.0Ω range or lower. Does anyone here know where I could find what I'm looking for?

gotvapes has stainless fluxomizers down to 2.4, but with the design having the coil up so high, it might give you plenty of warm vapor just fine.

i have some on order, so i haven't tried them yet. bella chic loves hers on her p16. click on her sig and it will take you to her video review of them.
