P16 Vents....and battery question

so i could be vaping a hand grenade if the battery cell behaves abnormal...

i read some posts regarding the handling of Li ion cells. There are things that we need to avoid likes over discharge. Since Precise are fully mechanical parts, how are we able to tell that battery cell is not over discharge during vaping? Currently, i am using a Janty stick and once i saw the LED light blinking, I know i need to charge the batt..

I also saw 3 difference types of 16340 batt on David web,
- AW ICR 123/16340 Protected
- AW IMR 16340 3.7 Volt 550mAh
- AW LiFePO4 RCR 123 3.2 Volt 500mAh
which is considered to be most safe for noob likes me?

... OTOH I would stick to stock equipment until you are ready to deal with batt mods.

Electronic vs all mechanical does not protect you perse. Lulls you into a false sense of security yes.

I would run the Protected AW ICR 123 in your Precise 16340. (i recall thats what you ordered) and no, you can't be vaping a hand grenade, there simply isn't enough energy in a small ion battery to fragment it. I did throw two real hand grenades in basic training though. The explosive force was unreal. On the second grenade, i pulled the pins (theres two of them) cocked my arm back to throw it and all of sudden the range seargent grabbed me and shoved me to the ground (we were throwing from behind about a 4 foot tall concrete wall). Evidently, someone on another throwing lane had mis-thrown their grenade. Those were some .......n tense moments, we both just sat there, looking at the live grenade in my hand, i was squeezing that ..... so hard to make sure the spoon didn't release. We were both mentally counting the seconds down: One thousand one, one thousand two, one thousand three, one thousand four....

If you intend to use low resistance atomizers at 3.7v with single 16340 sized battery, the IMR is the obvious choice (imho). If you don't intend to use LR attys, the choice between the ICR and the IMR is less clear. The protected ICR may be a better choice for use with cartos given the extra capacity and protection circuitry. The LifePOs are only relevant for 6v/2 batteries setups which are inherently more dicey than single battery setups, HV setups are just a different thing.

You know its time to recharge when the device isn't providing enough power to get a satisfying hit.

I think its worth reading thru Switch's blog to get a better understanding of the issues so you can make informed decisions.

the AW IC 16340 is grossly overrated in runtime performance, in truth the runtimes between the AW LiCo cell and the LiMn are virtually indistinguishable. on top of that, the IC 16340 is about 1.2A, even a 2.9 or 3.0 Ohm cartomizer is pushing beyond the intended drain rate, which will further decrease the runtime of the cell. as VM stated, and in terms of our vaping applications this is certainly the case given the resistance we place on these cells, when you are unable to produce any vapor and the battery appears dead, you still have not reached the threshold of unsafe discharge levels (2.5V). the AW IMR16340 is definitely the best cell overall in this size/ voltage category for vaping purposes, all things considered (i.e. drain rates, runtimes, and safety).
