I am currently using tanks that use XL 1.5 dual coil cartos on my LT and I am not getting the performance/battery life that I expected. I would like to get the max performance out of it so I am looking for the ideal setup but not having a lot of luck.

From the reading that I have done on this subject, it seems that single coil cartos are recommended. Does that sound right? It seems that 1.5 dual coils are not ideal for the LT but 2.5 dual coils are OK, is that correct?

I tried DIY carto punching with a saddle valve from Lowes and failed miserably. Luckily my local vendor was as curious about this as I am and gave me 4 cartos to test on. I'm glad they were free because I ruined all 4 of them by either making the hole too big or denting/deforming the carto so much that it would not seal properly in the tank.

I've been looking everywhere for 2.5 - 3 ohm, single coil, XL pre-punched cartos to use in my tank on the LT and am not having a lot of luck. Do they even exist? If so, can someone please provide links to vendors that carry these? If they don't exist, what is the preferred carto to use in this tank: Elite Vaporworks 510 DCT - Dual Coil Cartomizer Tank V2 - Chrome - 510 Cartomizers and Tanks

Thank you,
John

I don't know if anyone sells pre-punched single coils. You'd think someone would start, because there's certainly a market for them.

I do know that Volcano sells pre-punched 3.0 ohm dual coils.
Tube Tank - Refill Cartomizer

And madvapes sells pre-punched 2.5 ohm dual coils.
Tank Replacement Dual Coil Cartomizers, 2.5 ohms

And.....looking at that link for volcano, they DO have 3.0 ohm pre-punched single coils.

Modded Cartos

they sell prepunched boge 3ohms, but i dont think they'd fit your carto

so not entirely helpful for what you want but they also sell the chibi tank which is pretty damn cheap and provided you dont mind using a syyringe to fill is fantastic. i've had them for about 2 months, maybe a little more no leaking no problems.
only slight niggle I have with them is they have to be empty before you can change cartos. you have to pop the bottom and top caps off to take the old carto out and then reassemble it before refilling.
if you do a search for chibi tank on this site you'll find a thread or two with people discussing them, for the price imo you can't go wrong with trying one out. dont know what postage is stateside, but it's damned reasonable and quick to ireland so I'd imagine you being in the same country it will be as good/better.

--edit

actually you could try one of these http://www...........co.uk//Cartomiser_Punch/p705283_5799886.aspx not sure if there's any us sites that sell them but from what I understand you just put it together, stick the carto in the hole and screw down. meant to be incredibly simple.

umm... wont let me paste the url. not sure if I oughta mention it in case there's some war I dont know about between ecf and that site.

Up top of the forum page is a tab marked SUPPLIERS. Should be 20-30 stores there to shop for the cartos- they are there.

You could also use the search feature at the top of this page.

There is probably a youtube video on how to use the saddlepunch correctly.

Thanks for pointing that out. I have searched for them already and not had much luck which is why I asked here. I'm finding all kinds of vendors that sell dual coil pre-punched XL cartos in varying resistance, but not having any luck finding them in single coil. This is why I asked if they even exist.

I'm still looking for these. If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd sure appreciate it.

Thanks,
JG

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I did find them at volcano before my original post, but I was hoping to find other vendors to compare prices before pulling the trigger.

I checked your link to madvapes and those are dual coils. If that is the way to go on the LT then so be it. The reviews on that page for those particular cartos weren't too positive tho.

I've found that single coil 2.7-3.0 ohm boge cartos work best for me (i get them from liberty flights). but they're not XL.

So you'll have to cut your tube tank down a bit with a pipe cuter. VERY simple to do, and actually looks a bit better as well.

as for punching your cartos... search you tube for some videos. i ruined a few at first too, but it's like riding a bike. once you've got it, you've got it. use the ones you've ruined already, and just practice punching a bunch of holes in it.

1/4" saddle valve punch works great and are only a few bucks in the plumbing section of your hardware store. Not good for more than 20 cartos tops before it dulls out too much to punch well and starts crushing the tube too much.
That's why they make metal files and grinding wheels.
