Prefilled cartos vs. ejuice - is there a difference in quality or just price?

I tried a friend's ecig a couple of years ago and was unimpressed. Then a couple of weeks ago someone let me try their coffee flavored ecig, and 2 hours later I was at the mall. Maybe not the best start but I was so entranced by the idea of replacing my analogs with a cheaper, healthier, tastier option that I didn't research what was best, I just went for fast. Now I have a basic setup for an RN4081 and not a lot of $ so I'm going to stick with it as long as it lasts. My question is about cartomizers. Are there benefits to filling your own other than cost? I'm very new to this so I'm trying to keep it as simple as possible for now.

I will be ordering future cartos online (no more mall prices) and wondered if I would get a better flavor or vape from filling my own. If I do decide to buy eliquid, is there a approximation of mL to cigarettes? Thanks anyone with input

If you order from a place that pre fills their own cartos and sells the same juice in bottles then no, there isn't any difference other than cost.

Most complaints come from the juice they are filled with and not knowing what it is, most times it'll be sub par and on the rare occasion somebody finds one they really like and wants to refill it they can't because the it's unknown what exact juice was in it to begin with.

You have far more choices in flavor with bottled juice. That improves your chances of finding juices with flavors that you really like. Also by filling your own you have a better choice in cartos. Cartomizers come in different types sizes and ohms. Picking a carto that delivers a satisfying amount of flavor hit and smoke can be just as important as the juice. Vaping is different than smoking tobacco in that there are so many choices and it takes time experimentation and some knowledge to find what works best for you.

Just to give you a frame of reference, check out some of the popular juice vendors online before buying those prefilled cartos. There are plenty of great vendors. Look up Mrs. T's Bakery and Juicy Vapor to name two (there are plenty more but these were the first that came to mind) to get a feel for the variety of flavors out there.

Whatever works to keep you off of analogs is good. I was floored when I saw how much was available that I wanted to try.

Welcome to the ECF! Happy Vaping..

analog is a traditional cigarette. Its used as a juxtaposition to our "electronic cigarettes"
There are different cartomizers: low resistance, dual coil, xl, ce2, ce3, etc etc etc and they're all different. Most prefilled cartos I've seen are short single coils in standard ~3ohm resistance (bear in mind I'm pretty new, I'm sure someone offers others). A lot of vendors don't offer prefilled cartos in all their flavors, so you are really missing out on most of the vaping universe if you stick to prefilleds.
Filling the cartos I've used so far is easy. there really is no reason not to try it

On benefit to filling your own is YOU can make sure you buy soft-cap cartos of the best quality you can find for refilling vs possibly getting ripoff-rebrander cartos that may have hard or glued on caps or be a cheap mess inside designed designed to work well for one filling.

Unfortunately RN4081 has very little choice of blank cartomizers but I know I have seen soft-caps for sale. Other models (510 and KR808D-1) have more variety of blanks.

I dont use any end caps for my e-cig... I just put a drip tip on and call it a day

it hits better with it and looks cooler imo
