Premium e-juices: Are they worth it? And what's good?

I saw this small vape store in 1 of the malls at bali, selling a subox mini at a hefty price. Saw their juice mostly in 10ml. ahahaha

Maybe that's coz it's a tourist trap.

More n00b from me:

I've been a fan of King's Crest Duchess Reserve since a friend let me have his remaining half bottle. Found the 0 nic Duchess at another shop and was told that the difference is just a lack of "toasted marshmallow" and that no nic usually means a milder flavour. To date, the regular Duchess does come across as a pale comparison against the Reserve.

What about other "premium e-juices"?

Found a number of brands claiming to belong to this category... what are your thoughts?

Does this category live up to its claim all the time or is it mostly just bs and we're all subject to the luck of the draw? Any brand just faking it?

And what do you recommend? And why? Does the extra steeping in whisky barrels and having been capped by virgins make the extra $ worthwhile?

I don't know if expensive liquid is worth the money because I've never had any and I'm never going to have any because I might like it and what's the point of that? I DIY with 1.5% of one flavor. My cost of ingredients for my daily 7 ml's is 8 cents. I'm not tampering with that.
