Hey everyone, pretty new to vaping. I have a pretty basic setup, a little ego battery and a bunch of tanks. Some ce4's, evods, and vision minis. I had been buying juice locally for a while because it was quick and I could try them. They all were pretty good but I wanted to try the hype that is online juice that received great ratings. I ordered a few small bottles from halo (cool mist, twisted java, and subzero) I was so excited to try subzero, I heard it was one of the best menthols possible. Now this is where it gets stupid so stay with me. I was so excited I didnt even shake them I poured them right in, all 3 of them into different tanks. Every single one tasted like crap, had a chemical taste, with a forced flavor taste that wasnt what I was expecting. Subzero taste like I'm inhaling a cough drop. Now my question is, does the fact that I didnt shake them at all, or let them sit at all, make THAT big of a difference? If so, is there any hope for the tanks I already filled? Can I pop the top off and let those sit and shake them? Thanks in advance.

Steeping DOES make that big of a difference. And yes, you can still let the juice steep in the tanks. Let them sit for at least a week, shaking them every now and again and letting them breathe. In the mean while, just use whatever juices you have been using up until that point. It also helps if you let the juice sit in the tanks for at least 15 minutes so that the wicks have time to saturate.

That chemical taste might also be some primer on the wicks to prevent them from drying out, so there is a "break in" period. If you can bear with the taste for a bit, it'll get better with use. But there's no doubt that the juice gets better with age.

Shaking before filling IS important -- it makes certain that the flavors and nicotine are all dancing around after settling and gives you the best experience. Always shake your juices prior to filling your juice delivery system.

Also, a good first day for your liquid is shake, then caps off for 24 hours. Caps back on, shake a steep for a couple of days minimum at room temperature.

Even HALO juices are sometimes fresh. For best vaping experiences, always shake a steep.

I shake my juices daily as a routine. And then before filling any carto or tank, I shake just before filling. Keeps things lively :)

Yea the steeping def helps. My jucies have done nothing but gotten better over the last few weeks. What I usually do is as soon as I get them I shake them up, un cap them and put them in my medicine cabinet. I leave them in there the entire time I have them unless I take one to work, which is uncapped in my bottomw drawer. By the time the bottle is down to the end I am mad because it is tasting sooo good!

If you buy a big bottle, dividing it up into smaller portions will help it steep faster!

And def let it sit in the tank for 15-20 minutes if its a new tank....I burned the wicks on my first tank because I had no idea

Halo juices alter a lot during a month time. Tribeca gets much more nutty, Freedom juice changes till you vaped your last drop. Just shake them and leave them a bit, they'll change. I don't like all of them, as much as I loved the Freedom juice I hated midnight apple and tiki juice. I remember Freedom juice being perfumey too, but that goes away in time. Give them a little time and if you still don't like them, swap them :)

I started washing out new atomizers and it helps with that funny taste you get at the beginning. I also like to shake Everclear in them and rinse and let them dry before I use them. Just my :2c:. I've been pleased so far with making my own menthol with crystals and Everclear mixed 50/50. Then add that to my unflavored 18mg nic base. Seems to be saving me lots of money which makes me happy. Good luck to you. Oh and yes I would let them steep in the tanks and give them another try. Good Luck.

Not sure what the problem is with you Halo Menthol. I've tried Kringle's Curse and SubZero from them and have enjoyed both. I reordered the SubZero because it is so cold and often mix it in with my generic menthol juice.

I mix kringles curse with my smooth.. I might have to try the SubZero. The rest I got in the sampler are so strong I just use them to add taste to others (like coffee, or a chocolate or such). I can't do them straight at this point, but they do make great enhancers :)

The date on Halo bottles is a "best if used by" date. But, since that appears to be a year after the made date, it does let you know how freshly made it is when you get it. In my case the first 7 flavors I got from them was 2-3 weeks old when I got them. I simply shook and started using them right away, and all but two were was just fine to yummy. The many 30ml bottles I got have been from a little aged to super fresh. Maybe just my perception, but they are a little different flavor than the smaller bottles I started with. The Twisted Java and Shamrock were kind of yuck to me when I got them, they still are 4 months later. On the negative side now, some I liked at first have become tiresome to me. I've been doing DIY liquids for two months now... that may be part of the why.

The Halo liquids work fine in my Sigelei mech mods and V5.

I was shipped some free Southern Classic for free. I had some Voodoo for free from my initial Triton purchase. I combined them just to try it, after I steeped both of them for over a week. The result was simply amazing! -I never thought I would like anything but a menthol tobacco flavor, which I need to keep from smoking, IMO.........

I smoked menthol full flavor cigs for 25 years. Thanks to Halo, I believe I have finally put down the lighter for GOOD. I have smoked zero cigarettes since I picked up the Triton system. Thank god for the technology that is good enough to do this for me! :)

I did NOT think that I would even enjoy this but I had to at least try it! The overall flavor of this 50/50 mix has underlying tobacco flavors, but not so much. I cannot even describe what the flavors are that I taste. It is complex, fruity, perhaps some spices........ Very strange and wonderful sensations here. I always vape it in the evening. Great stuff here!

The Halo juices are formulated specifically for the Halo cigs. Although it can be used in other e cigs, you will have the best most flavorful results using a Halo G6 with mini tank or a Triton.

Hope this helps! Happy vaping! :)

Don't believe the hype. I almost guarantee that my Halo juice tastes better in a regular 510 dripping atty than it does in a G6.

That's what they want you to believe so you buy their rigs. They aren't going to say anything else if you think about it.

That chemical taste is common for Halo; some believe it's part of the base (before flavors are added).

If you got it recently, it's likely to need a good time-out; the latest batch is really on the fresh side.

Pop off the dripper tip, and let it sit for a day, or two. Otherwise, give it a good shake. Easier; let it sit out in the sun for a day (isn't it still 100 deg down there in h-town?)
