my current usual setup right now is Cisco-spec 1.5 ohms atomizers on a "Brother", 1300 mAh battery that runs at the regular 3.2v, I think. It works pretty well for me, using both drip-tips and 510 tanks. however, I would like to up the ante a little bit. cartos have NEVER worked for me, dunno why, but i can now drip while walking, talking, and doing the foxtrot, so i don't really care. i also have a proper 5v passthrough, but i think i prefer my LR atomizers. i feel satisfied more quickly and I don't have to draw as hard.

now, i do run the issue of killing batteries. i don't like the idea of replacing a 30 dollar battery regularly, even if i've only done so once and it was after several months. i know i've definitely killed lots of little 510 cheapie batts! is there a sort of battery mod i can buy or assemble to retain the shape and type of the fat batt without going too big, and what should i look for to be suitable for LR vaping? i'm thinking of something like the Silver Bullet but not so big, or The Copper, but without being copper.... i like that I can still hold my ecig in my mouth with no hands for short periods.

I use cisco 1.5 atties too but on a REO mini using a 14500 battery that lasts for a couple hours. I would use it on a Grand too but it gets to hot for me at least. It uses a 18560 battery and lasts for about 8 hrs.

You won't kill either battery neither. Just re-charge them and your good. Both batteries that I and many Reonauts use are IMR AW high drain batteries. Which are made for LR vaping.

IMO you should give it a try. If you need anymore info and are interested than here's the REO subforum:

I was going to point you toward the e-power until the holding it in your mouth part came up lol. The 14500 is a little short for it and needs something dropped in on the spring to be used but it would still be big and heavy. Hopefully you'll find something from your nicest looking 14500 mod request. In the meantime, take a look at these batts. A couple of these might help until you come up with something. Bargain Bin

........cartos have NEVER worked for me......

That used to be true for me as well but a couple of months ago I decided to try a couple of the newer designs and I'm liking them really well. I plan on testing some more in the future when I use up my present stock lol. If you decide to pick up the bargain batt, you might want to consider one of these to test. eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer (I'm big on madvapes--can you tell? )

I don't know squat about them so that's just a 'for example' idea. Vape on. :vapor:

There's a possible mod that might suit your needs, but I think you'd have to build it yourself from scratch -- two 10440 batteries in parallel to give 680mA. Made properly, it'd be about 1/9 larger in diameter than a standard 808, so the chances are good you could still hold it in your mouth easily. The batteries are reasonably cheap, and they can be taken out to be recharged.

I saw one site that supposedly makes and sells them, but their model is so big and brutish that it loses any advantage over an eGo.

Thing is.... you'll probably want to switch ohms anyway if you switch mods. The true 3.7 volt units will be hotter, so you'll probably want higher ohms, like 2.0. 1.5 ohms at 3.7 volts is 9.12667 watts. Might be a bit hot.

The rumor is that 1.5 ohms can fry the circuitry for some eGo type batteries (3.x volts) when "over vaped"/"chain vaped". May vary by make/model/design and habits. So 2.0 ohms is suggested for these as a precaution.
