I have seen several posts regarding people batching a specific NIC strength in advance and then flavoring it as needed days or weeks later, but does anyone make individual primary flavors, steep them and then combine as the feeling hits them??

It seems this would be an easier way to do it. I realize the flavors would need more time to steep and integrate, but at least they would be steeped for the most part. I have done this with a number of pre-mixed juices from various vendors that I just didn't care for and wound up mixing several weeks after receipt to make them palatable. I'm sure I can't be the only one who does this..... :)

I'm new to DIY and ordered some PG/VG from Essentials Depot, NIC and 15 SC flavors from VZ and I'm considering doing this. I think it would give me a good idea of what each flavor tastes like by itself and what might go well together. Maybe 10-15ml of each mixed at my NIC strength, steeped for a week or two, and then mixed with other flavors on an as needed/wanted basis.

Example - 10ml flavored e-liquid might be:

6ml - Black Cigar SC - 15ml in 50/50 VG/PG 15mg NIC solution (2.5% as advised on their website)
2ml - Caramel SC - 15ml in 50/50 VG/PG 15mg NIC solution (2.5% as advised on their website)
2ml - Vanilla SC - 15ml in 50/50 VG/PG 15mg NIC solution (2.5% as advised on their website)

This would still come out to be 2.5% flavoring for 10ml. Yes??

Guess the variable would be if the flavors were too strong or weak, so some unflavored NIC on the side might be useful to level things out on the top side but if you had to make different strengths of the "primaries", that would be troublesome.

Maybe I'm just completely off in left field but......Thoughts??

I've been doing a lot of that. Both mixing store bought flavors and DIY mixes and sometimes both together. I share all of it with my son and he definitely has different tastes than I do so it's working well for a couple reasons. An added benefit for me is mixing the DIY at a lower nic percentage in the flavors that I like and mixing them with the stronger nic ones that we share. I'm starting to want to cut down on nic and he's not yet ready (still has some cigs).

So for example, I mix up (all DIY)
Double RY4 at 18mg 10% flavor(I've done this with RY4 too, DRY4 is sorta new to me but now I wouldn't want to be without)
Chocolate Fudge Brownie at 18mg 8 or 9%
Cake Batter at 12mg (7 to 10 drops to 10ml)

I like them together and roughly my mix is somewhere around a tasty 16mg. He'll take the CFB and DRY4 and mix it with a store-bought banana or coffee/cappuccino in an 18 or 24mg. Yuck on both of those but to each his own. :)

I've mixed store bought Peach and DIY or bought Sweet Cream and got a nice peaches and cream, DIY coconut with the CFB...it's endless, loads of fun and since I really don't want or need an all day vape, I find it satisfying as well. So I'll join you out in left field.

I make 30 ml of tobacco bases and let them steep. Then I take 5 ml and add to them.
Pre-steeped English Tobacco plus English Toffee
Asian Ry4 plus Vanilla Cupcake
Virginia Flue Cured plus Raisin

I'm still working on my 555 base and my Marlboro base:( The Marlboro tobaccco base is okay but not great so I need to tweak it and same with the 555

Ya, I'm thinking because everyone says the tobacco's need to steep for a couple weeks this would be the way to do it and still get some variety. (rather than getting stuck with something I didn't like so much) :)
