Ok, so I vape 6mg juices I would like to DIY because my favorite flavor is only made by one company and they only make them in 10ml bottles and I want to daily vape this flavor.

If I order premixed 50/50 6mg juice UNflavored and then want to mix in my own flavoring am I correct in assuming 20%(flavoring) of the bottle I am mixing?

So for example I am creating several 15ML bottles I would need 3ML in flavoring per 15ML bottle then the rest is the unflavored pg/vg nic?

I've looked at a few calcs but they assume a pg/vg mix and a pure nic base, I really want this to be as simple as possible.

Thanks for any help!

Different flavors require different percentages. Might help if you let us know what the flavor is. I use between 7% and 10% flavor and that's a very strong flavor (normally 1 ml per 15 ml comes out pretty strong for me). I know you want to keep it simple but financially you'd be better off getting a much larger percentage nic base. I have 100mg nic base that I use for DIY. Got 120ml of it for something like $15. Also be aware that if you mix in 20% flavoring your juice is no longer going to be 6mg but will only be 80% of 6mg which is 4.8mg since 1.2mg will be diluted by flavoring.

Its can be as easy as you stated, most flavors will give a recommended % to start mixing at. I would still suggest reading the stickys and blog links under the DIY form just because the is some good info there. But like CJ says if you base is 6 MG then it will go down a bit when you add flavoring depending on the % you add.

eJuice Me Up - Best eJuice Calculator Free calculator, if you want 6mg jujice and start with 6mg base you will end with a lower than 6mg nic level in your final product. This software will produce warning boxes and list negative amounts for PG/VG for what you want to do. But it will give you the correct flavor percentage.

You are right in your math. I tend to stay around 10%, sometimes up to almost 15%, others less than 10%. Simple way to do it is the way you have, for 20% multiply 15 ml times .2 , 10% would be your 15 total time .1 which would be 1.5 ml of flavor.

Thanks, I've actually been looking for a link to that calculator. Installing it now.

So I should look into trying to find an 8mg unflavored 50/50 if I plan on 20% flavoring?

Why not get a 36mg or a 60mg and use the juice calculator, it's going to go a lot farther than if you buy 8mg 50/50 if that's even offered by anyone anywhere. All you need is some vg and some pg, easy enough to get. My one stop shop is Wizard Labs but there are others out there as well. I know you want to keep it as simple as possible, just put some flavor into some unflavored juice, but I think you'll find just mixing the nic solution with pg / vg really isn't complicated at all.

I don't want to complicate things, but I would go with something like a small bottle of 24 or 36 at the minimum and a small bottle each of PG and VG. This way when you get the urge to play with different flavors/percentages, you can maintain the same nic level. Its not really hard, I started DIY less than two months after I started vaping.

Wizard Labs has good products and pricing, a 25ml plastic graduated cylinder would hold your 15ml batches easily. Tractor Supply sells various sizes of syringes very cheaply that are marked and also make a great way to measure fluids. The syringes are in the animal health section, normally on a rack on in a bin, they also sell needles, sharp needles though, not the blunt ones.

Edit, CJLaity has posted the same basic thing.

The operative word here is your favorite flavor.

Regardless of what pg/vg ratio or NIC strength your trying to mix it sounds like your trying to may be clone a favorite that your vender only sells in limited size. What you have to realize is that not all flavor manufactures flavors taste the same. For example an apple flavoring from one manafacture taste different then another's and how much flavoring you add differs from flavor to flavor. So my first suggestion is to get cloneing or duplication out of your head. That will lead to fustration. Don't expect an exact match. You will need to try many different apple flavorings just to get close.

Here is some recommended reading.

Read my blogs before getting started

E-Cigarette Forum - dannyv45 - Blogs

then read hoosier's blogs.

E-Cigarette Forum - Hoosier - Blogs

then read the stickies at the top of the page.

this will explain a lot of the how's and why's.

Assuming a 36mg PG NIC e-liquid the formula would be to make a 50pg/50VG/6mg 30ml bottle:

Assuming 10% flavoring

36mg PG Nic e-liquid = 5ml
Plain PG = 7ml
plain VG = 15ml
Flavoring = 3ml

Assuming 20% flavoring

36mg PG Nic e-liquid = 5ml
Plain PG = 4ml
plain VG = 15ml
Flavoring = 6ml

Calculated via the e-juice me up calculator
