I just assume that new attys all come with primer. So I treat them as if they were used and need a cleaning: they go right into the "to be washed" glass. (I use an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner and 91% isopropyl alcohol.) After they've been cleaned, I screw them into a battery, prime them with about three drops of the e-liquid I'll be using and wet-burn them once. Add a loaded cart, then they're good to go: no disgusting taste or anything, just pure flavor.

Primer is a protective liquid that's used to keep attys from oxidizing during storage, imo not needed but nobody asked me.

Some come with it and some don't. I wash all of mine just to be sure. You can rinse the atty out or soak it in alcohol or you fav solution then blow it out, let it dry, prime it with your liquid and you're ready to vape. If you're in a hurry you can blow it out then drip liquid directly on the atty doing mouth draws, don't inhale for a cycle or two, a couple of cycles of direct dripping and mouth draws and it should be gone.

You put your mouth on the end of the atomizer and blow as hard as you can while holding a paper towel at the end of the atomizer so the fluid if any does not spray all over. After that I usually put some PGA in it and blow it out again several times but you can also use water, PG or juice. After that put about 6 or 7 drops of your juice in it and let it sit for 15 min before using.

So, do I actually submerge the entire atty in the PGA or isopropyl or whatever? Like, drown it?

Yes you can completely submerge it. The idea behind the PGA/IPA is that it evaporates quickly so you don't have to wait so long for it to dry out (there's a tiny wick deep inside the atty, inside the coil). You can also use juice to clear it out, drip several drops into it, let it sit for a few minutes, then blow out the excess.

Personally, I just blow out any excess into a tissue or something, drip 3 or 4 drops of juice on it, then use it normally. But I'm not too bothered by the taste of "primer".

What's the difference between PGA and "juice" I thought that "juice" was a vaping slang term for all e-liquids.

Boy is all this complicated!!! Not for the faint of heart!!

PGA is Pure Grain Alcohol. Helps to clean out the atomizers.

Juice is definitely a slang for all e-liquids, but not all juice is comprised of the same thing. Juice can be made up of PG (Propylene Glycol), VG (Vegetable Glycerine), or a combination of both. PGA can be used as part of the juice makeup, but I don't recommend it.

Edit: PGA is also used to thin VG, making it less thick and easier to use while dripping. Also adds a little throat hit (TH) to the mix.
