Pro Tank II Mini - Fake?? Need advice please.

I ordered a Pro tank II Mini because I had a plastic tank crack and I realized I had a few e-liquids that are on the tank cracker list.

I got it from an online vendor who posts here on the suppliers forum - they were offering free e-liquid samples and I figured I needed the tank and I'd throw them some business since they were being so generous and see how I liked their e-liquids at the same time.

Got my order today and I'm kinda worried that the Pro Tank is fake.



The only print in the box says "made in China" and there were no extra coils or anything else.. Also, the bottom part that connects the tank to the base doesn't seem removable like I've seen in pictures. The base comes apart but the part that connects to the glass doesn't seem to. I twisted pretty hard but I didn't want to break it. The top part where the drip tip connects is the same, it doesn't seem to be removable like it's supposed to be.

I double checked the web site when I got home and there is not mention of "Pro Tank style" or anything else. Everything on the page indicates it's authentic and the price was right in line with what the other sites charge.

So what do I do? I haven't contacted the web site yet because this is the first Pro Tank I've bought and I didn't want to be a jerk and accuse them if I'm wrong.

My PTIIs came in a fairly nice box, extra head, transition ring and o-rings. Did you get an authenticity card/sticker with it? You can verify on the Kanger site if it's real or not.

Yeah, that is neither an original protank mini nor a protank II mini. Do you have the link? I would contact them and perhaps add that you've posted this problem on ecf and are waiting for resolution.

Unfortunately this seems fake to me. All parts should unscrew/be replaceable. Does the darker bottom peace have any sort of kangertech branding on it?

No there's no mention of Kangertech anywhere at all except stamped on the base.

I know it's not a huge amount of money, $13, but I've been pretty broke for a while and I wanted an authentic Kangertech product so at least I'd feel like it was gonna last a little while.

I don't know if I'm allowed to post a link or mention the site I got it from. They are on the ECF suppliers list. I also don't know if I should mention it before I get ahold of them to ask what the deal is but the site for SURE indicates it's authentic.

Dis it come with any coil heads at all? Also, I just looked at mine, the kangertech logo should be on the bottom silver price. . Hold it sideways, turn the part the drip top plugs into away from you and the part the dark base screws into. Does the tank itself feel like Pyrex or plastic?

I'd take it up with the vendor first as they may not even be aware that it's fake. Failing that, post in their thread and/or leave feedback in the negative reviews forum here on ECF.

Just the one installed. It's heavier than my Evod tanks. It's stamped with Kangertech but the script looks different than it does on my Evods.

the op said the base was stamped kanger tec.
could be the extra parts were removed for resale as replacements.
you have no idea how much that happens.

Sounds like a fake to me. I've got 2 of the tanks sitting next to me right now if you want a picture of the stamp for comparison.

I have both originals and copies. Yours may be a copy. One thing I notice - All my copies have same silver base part. Kanger uses a dark base part like yours. Try soaking in hot water and twisting the lower section off.
Glass does not separate on the copies. They function the same as the originals.

As far as lasting - Really? It is a tank with a glass center - Drop either and say good bye.
Both are about the same build quality - material wise and the working part, the coil/wick assemblies are interchangeable.

Recheck the page you ordered from. Does it explicitly say Kanger Protank II mini? Or - does it just say protank II mini?
If it says Kanger, Email the vender about your dissatisfaction.

Recheck the page you ordered from. Does it explicitly say Kanger Protank II mini? Or - does it just say protank II mini? If it says Kanger, Email the vender about your dissatisfaction.

Looks like you got a clone. Glass tank is not threaded and should just pull out. Wording in ad is everything.

It sure doesn't look like any authentic PTII mini I've seen, and that certainly isn't Kanger packaging. Just put up a link to the item you purchased. That's allowed, and we can figure out what vendor it is from there.

One would think that a reputable vendor would take the time to do the research and make sure that they were supplying genuine products before representing said products as such.
