Hi there. On my cheap atomizer it glowed red when I used 5v what can I use on the pro tank mini 2?

What coil are you using? Try turning down the voltage a little. Seems high.

Like Sthur said, what kind of coil are you using?? Just looked at the little voltage/resistance chart that came with my Evod (same coils as the PT 2) and you would need a coil with a resistance higher than 3 ohms to even think about 5v and Kanger doesnt make anything near that for the PT 2.. You need to drop it below 4, all your doing is frying things at that voltage.

Kanger sells 1.5,1.8,2.0 and 2.2 coils oh and the sub ohm coils they sell now. All of them run great at 4.2 and lower. Try bringing down the voltage I would.

About 4v is generally tops.
The issue is Kanger uses REALLY thin wire so it tends to get REALLY hot at higher voltage

I've noticed I can run 5 volts in the newer type kanger dual coils with no problems

5v on a protank ii is pretty high. Sounds like one great hit followed by a very dry/burnt hit. But, as it's been mentioned, it all depends on the resistance of the coils you're using. I keep mine at 4.2v on a 2.5o coil, but that's just my preference. I wouldn't go any higher than 4.4v, and anything under 2.0o I wouldn't go higher than 3.8v

I now rebuild my PT2 heads...and can run at 20 watts no problem
